  1. Magnitude!!! HA!
  2. I hand wash a few things every day....pots and pans, knives and glassware. If I didn't hand wash my glasses I'd never have any clean ones since I only run the d/w about once a week or so. I have two of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014FVDJ0M/ref=twister_B0089A2M2C?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 so there's always a clean one when the other needs laundering. The water beads up on top so they dry very quickly. There's no standing water and no musty odors.

If I saw snakes (especially live ones) in the grocery store I'd have to head for the door, just like I did when I first saw TONGUE!!!! And BRAINS! I live a sheltered life.
  4. Dinner last night was an Instant Pot recipe for short ribsr and it was amazing. I'll be having some of the leftover beef as well as the mashed potatoes tonight along with a slice of my freshly baked bread. Can't wait for my IP corned beef dinner coming soon.
  5. Since I’m usually cooking for just one, I use my mini lots more than my 6-qt. IP. So the lid for the mini will be really useful for all those times I use it to steam and slow cook. Love the smaller footprint of the mini.
  6. I see that Amazon now has the glass lid sized for the IP Mini that I've been waiting for! Don't know if it's available for shipping to Canada.
  7. I had your problem with my LC software when I got my Win10 desktop. I uninstalled then reinstalled and then it was fine though I was for a time terrified that I’d lose all of my thousands of recipes I’d saved for many years. Now I just backup often and keep my fingers crossed, I've not heard anything about new activity within Living Cookbook in a couple of years and I haven't heard of anything equivalent and new coming along either. I'm fortunate mine still works, I'd be devastated to lose all I've saved.
  8. A small Mexican restaurant nearby doesn't have a proper license to sell beer or wine but does offer non-alcoholic beer. I tried one and it was surprisingly good but maybe because I didn't expect very much. That restaurant closed and I've never tried na beer again since I can get the good stuff anyplace.
  9. I rarely eat dessert at all but I only eat restaurant dessert when I go to Outback...I cannot resist Thunder Down Under.

My dream kitchen has Sub Zero. In my dreams only.
  11. A favorite snacking item here is Anderson's peanut butter filled pretzel nuggets! Love those things. Available at Costco and other major stores.

I've learned that over time, however, the one nearest me is quite good....except for their fish, I didn't like that at all.

Good to know. We have one here but it's a 40minute drive from my house. I see the ads on TV all the time. Now I will make it a point to go there when I have to be in that area. Thanks for the recommendation.

    Those wings look amazing!
  15. I've wondered about the length of time the timer will go off. Do they have a built-in end time. Mine seems to go on forever. I often yell bad words at Alexa when she doesn't respond to my requests.
  16. Once I was entertaining a friend at a vacation home where all the glasses were quite small (about 6 to 8 ozs. I'd guess). We made drinks in the kitchen then walked over to the indoor pool. We'd barely sat down when our glasses were empty. I said, "Well, this isn't gonna work" and we left to go buy some way bigger glasses.

So sorry, not that awful flu, I hope. So many sick with it these days.
  18. DH and I visited Maui, Kuai and Oahu many, many times and I remember the towering displays of Spam offered in the drug stores as well as Costco. The native Hawaiians clearly love the stuff.

    Dinner 2018

Dinner tonight is a crockpot dish with chicken thighs, potatoes, carrots, onions, cream of chicken soup with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Love easy dishes like this that allow me to fully enjoy the cocktail hour. Still cooking away, but it smells very good.
  20. I've never eaten Spam but I do faintly remember some Underwood deviled ham spread mixture in a can.
  21. I remember my Mom having a fondness for Pennsylvania Dutch scrapple though I've never eaten it. Wouldn't Spam be quite similar to scrapple? The TV ads are running in this area as well.
  22. Another reason to bless the dishwasher.
  23. I've been messing with my own variation of a pomegranate monitor. (Spellcheck changed this from mojito!) Vodka, pomegranatejuice, cranberry juice, Cointreau and lime juice. I just eyeball the amounts based on previous testing. I like my version which I mix in a tall glass with ice, Again, not authentic but I like it.
  24. Dinner time for me revolves around the cocktail hour which begins at 5PM. After a cocktail followed by a glass or two of wine, it's time for dinner. That's about 7:30 or so. The problem is that after the cocktails followed by food, I'm ready for sleep. I'm always in bed by 9PM. I've always been a morning person so it works for me.
