I’m still not buying one.

I stumbled across this recipe for KAF Rustic Ciabatta Bread. I've not made this one before and it looks really good. I love ciabatta. Anyone tried it yet?

Tonight's dinner will be Parker's Split Pea Soup, I'm a big fan of anything Ina Garten and I've made this soup many times. It's so good. Cold Fall days make me crave soup. (maybe some homemade bread too)

Oh my, you are too much! 😁

Because I don’t need one. I already have a grill I don’t use. And I already have a mass of kitchen gear that I don’t use.

I will never again empty my cocktail glass into the kitchen drain without taking out the metal cocktail pick. i have now seriously jammed my disposer and will have to call the plumber. I can’t unjam with the torque wrench. 😒

Dum-Dums? Never heard of them.

Yeah. Who wants an apple when they're already forced on you by your Mom?

I do too.

That was my favorite treat at Halloween. I was lucky if I even got one of them.

Here in the Northern Rockies we're setting records for the cold.

One year DH and I were on a trip to the Seattle area and I was driving; made a wrong turn coming out of a rest area so we decided we'd try to find our way back and got kind of lost. (I am notoriously bad at directions and tell everyone that I can get lost leaving an empty room.) Anyway, our new route took us through orchard country and I've never seen so many apple trees...miles and miles of them. Interesting, all kinds of fruit trees and lots of picking going on.

For me it’s often soup, any kind. I just love making it nearly as much as I like bread-making. Next, maybe tomorrow, is Beef Bourguignon.

Yes. I don't think electric can openers are particularly useful any longer. They're big and clumsy and take up counter space. I haven't used one in years since we bought the Oxo. It fits in a drawer and is very easy to use even if you have hand issues (like me). It requires very little effort to open anything.

The wild turkeys here aren't very big, under well under ten pounds or so, I'd guess. I used to enjoy going out for the newspaper In the early morning and hearing their distinctive gobble coming from down the road. I had friends in a different neighborhood, however, who complained about the big groups that would come onto their property and poop all over their yard and driveway making quite a mess. I don't see as many these days as I used to but sometimes there are great flocks of them along the highways.

My dinner tonight is a simple Potato Leek Soup from onceuponachef.com. Easy, which is paramount for me these days. It smells really good, I will report later after I’ve tasted it.

Tonight’s cocktail recipe arrived in my inbox this morning. Apple Brandy Hot Toddy. Didn’t have Apple brandy, used Laird’s Applrjack. No honey liqueur, used regular clover honey. A nice drink on a chilly evening.

I've started to unload the d/w only to discover that I forgot to run it or didn't push the start button. Oops, dishes still dirty. I can't always tell right away because I rinse pretty thoroughly before loading.

Tonight's dinner will be Korean style short ribs. Into the slow cooker about 10AM. I've made these before and they're quite delicious.

Could that be the pre-processing weight?
