I just did a quick test with my own software and couldn't replicate the problem. I do know that Living Cookbook is no longer being maintained by the owner. When I had a problem with LC and then new Win10, I had to remove and reload the software in order to fix it. The LC forum is dead now too.

In Portland (OR) we had a chain of Mexican restaurants called Baja Fresh. Love, love, loved it. There were about four or five of them scattered around the city. My favorite lunch place...they had fabulous burritos. And, every one of their places was clean as a whistle, they had personnel constantly cleaning. All the staff was Latino.

Your Daily Sweets: What Are You Making and Baking? (2017 – )
lindag replied to a topic in Pastry & Baking
Today I baked a dozen Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and every time the furnace kicks on I get a whiff of cookies (which are now in the freezer). So tempting since I haven't had dinner yet, which is why they're in the freezer. -
Thanks for the pictures, I didn't which I had and now I do!

When I insert my blades I always spin them to be sure they're seated properly.

You should see the Food Section in the newspaper here (The Missoulian) it consists of about 3 awful recipes, so pathetic!
-
The CSO excels at toast making.!
-
I've heard that the Quick Cycle doesn't produce very good results in any machine....not tried it myself.
-
It gets great ratings and it’s cheap, but is it tall enough for bread pans?

Amazon US has the (used) hardback for $4.00 plus shipping. Here. I just may have to get it myself, I loved my Mom's Pennsylvania Dutch cooking.
-
I think that's because the fruitcake itself is so very good!
-
I can guarantee you will LOVE your new Zo bread machine. My friends who have them would agree.

On tonight"s menu is Polish Cabbage Soup like my Mom used to make, though hers was more Pennsylvania Dutch style, whatever that was. Pork, rutabaga, carrot, celery, onion, cabbage , beef broth and seasonings. In process in the iPot. Smells wonderful. A good dinner for a snowy day.

I remember seeing those great big jugs of Gallo way back when.

Breakfast this morning is sliced fruitcake, toasted and lightly buttered, as suggested by the maker. Maybe it doesn't look like much but it's quite filling and it tasted wonderful.

IMO, the two paddles make a world of difference in the mixing and kneading. I have much better results with my Zo than I ever did with my other machines.

Mighty fine! I never hear that ecpression anymore these days. Dad, who was originally from Alabama, used it all the time. It takes me back to see it.

I have a Zojirushi that I bought about 6 years ago or so. It's this one. It makes up to a two pound loaf, is easily customizable and, best of all, it two paddles so it kneads and mixes much better than those with only one paddle. I love mine and I've had many different models over the years since bread machines were first introduced. Like Jo mentioned, above, I also mix only in mine and oven bake. (Edited to remove sale info that has expired)

Came across this recipe this morning and decided it has to go on the list: I love the idea of a little booze in the sauce. Boozy Cranberry Sauce 12 oz Fresh Cranberries washed & inspected 3/4 cup Water 3/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar - firmly packed 1/4 tsp Sea Salt 3 Tbs Bourbon Whiskey In 3qt pot over medium heat; combine water, whiskey, salt and brown sugar. Stir and heat until sugar dissolves and liquid begins to boil. Add cranberries, reduce heat to medium/low and lightly boil for 25-30 minutes. Stir occasionally, more so during the last 10 minutes. Refrigerate 6+ hours before serving.

I'd love to see the recipe although I'd understand if you aren't allowed to share it.

Personally, I'd just use a stainless pot.
