  1. The new Field Cast Iron Skillet is available with free US shipping for a limited time. click here.
  2. While WIllaims Sonoma is having their 20% off and free shipping with code MERRY, I took the opportunity to buy myself some gorgeous new crystal cocktail glasses. More fun at cocktail hour!
  3. Have you checked out the recipes at KAF.com? They have lots that are easily adapted to bread machines.
  4. I purchased some bean soup mix from North Bay Traders that I've been so eager to try. The I ordered some of this from Amazon. It was due on Friday and I was excited to make the soup that evening or the next day. Damned UPS somehow lost the package leaving Louisville KY on Thursday so it did not come before the weekend. I hate when that happens, I so much wanted to try the mix in the soup to give some real intense flavor. Now it's due tomorrow.
  5. I bought this one from Amazon. I use it mostly for naan. Don't know that it would fit in the CSO, however. This one is a bit smaller, it might fit.
  6. Maybe you need one of these. Currently 15% off when you sign up.
  7. Good question, I'd like to know too
  8. I made a batch of the Cheedar Bay Biscuits last week and, while they were good, I decided to try a different recipe. I went with KAF's Savory Cheddar Biscuits (half the recipe). I made only one change and that was to add minced chives. Recipe here. They cooling now but I have high hopes.
  9. I didn’t get any mince pie at Thanksgiving so while I was in town yesterday I picked one up at my favorite grocery store...they have an in-store bakery and their goods are excellent. So this morning it was a slice of pie for breakfast!!!
  10. I've never had any cut of the round that I thought was worth using; I find it tough and lacking in flavor.
  11. And you are already an expert!!! Wow, such beautiful breads.
  12. I like a cookie now and then. So I buy Schwan's cookie dough and bake up a handful whenever I want some. Their dough is wonderful, I love the oatmeal raisin and the choc. chunk. Not for you guys who bake big batches.
  13. I'm ALLWAYS craving prime rib!
  14. Would it whip any differently if it were used in a charger?
  15. Ina is my hero. If she grinds Parm in her Cuisinart food processor, who am I to argue.
  16. She actually does it all the time, using Parmesano Reggiano. she does chunk it up a bit first. She has said that she prefers to 'grind' the cheese this way because the texture is better and, of course, it's much faster and easier to do. I just may try it if only to see how it works.
  17. Today I was watching an Ina Garten episode where she's doing appetizers. She ground up her Parm in her Cuisinart food processor just using her main chopping blade and it came out perfectly!
  18. While flipping through channels yesterday I spotted this item. Looks really handy for the garage next to my extra fridge and big upright freezer. I'm always looking for extra storage out there for canned goods and all the extras that I can't fit into my pantry inside. Also I have lots of dog food and doggie products that need shelf space. Free shipping as well as 15% off if one subscribes to their newsletter. I like that it folds flat, too.
  19. My sentiments exactly! When it gets that hot here (between 80 and 100F, I stay inside as much as possible.
  20. I finally got the opportunity to use my new Salad Shooter when I needed a good amount of grated cheddar for my tuna casserole recipe. I'm so please with the results! So easy to do without straining my hands at all. And, a bonus is that it's super easy to clean....the cone comes out along with the housing and both go into the d/w. Unlike my big food processor parts, these take up only a small corner of the top rack. Next I want to try some chopped and sliced vegs. Maybe today or later this week. I'm glad to have a small appliance that I know I'll use. I also want to grate up some parm with it, that will be a good test.

    Air Fryers

They were quite good...maybe I'll give them a couple more minutes next time. Every bit as good as most restaurant fries. I did use seasoned salt, some before cooking, then some added after.

    Air Fryers

French fries made in the air fryer. MDe with about 1 Tbsp. of melted coconut oil. Cooked for 20 mins. At 400F. 1 largish russet in a medium slices. The smell of coconut while frying was a bit off-putting but there was no taste of it. Next time I'll use about a third less oil.
