  1. If they like chicken you could roast one or more depending on the number of guests. Or maybe a pork roast or a rib roast.
  2. Actually, what I meant was to use it for parm and the like. I have discs that I could use for softer cheese. I could tolerate using the FP once in a blue moon for grating parmesan but don't want to on a regular basis. Waiting to see what the Salad Shooter will do with all types of cheese...it's due in the post today; I'll let you know how well it works when I get a chance to put it through its paces. I have very high hopes.
  3. I am so enjoying the KAF recipe for sourdough raisin bread! I can't wait to make it again. However what I wanted to do was a bread I could prepare in the bread machine, set on the timer, and have it greet me in the morning. I doubt I'll find a recipe as good as the KAF sourdough, though, it was just about perfect. I"lol try though and let you know if I find a comparable recipe.
  4. I'm wondering if that Cuisinart Fine Grating disc would produce a grind that is too fine. good for some applications but I need something more substantial, maybe the fine shredding disc is what I'm looking for.
  5. Here a person can harvest a roadkill deer, elk, moose or.antelope if they download a free permit within 24 hours. More than 800 permits were issued in the first year.(this state has a very small population)
  6. Yes, i have a small bag in the pantry that's calling my name right now. I'll,have to pace myself.

  9. Molly, that chipotle sweet potato dish sounds wonderful! I will pass on the sweet marshmallow casserole every time but this one looks like a winner. Thanks for posting.
  10. For the first time ever I ordered a Fruit Cake from Collins Street Bakery for Thanksgiving. Haven't had fruit cake since the Fifties! It looked so good I had to try.it. The ones I had years agoI remember as being good as well.
  11. My best turkey ever was a free-range, fresh one. A memorable Thanksgiving dinner. If I were doing the dinners these days I'd try a local, farm-raised bird too.
  12. One eGer enabling another!
  13. Wow! Thanks for all that information! I thought I had the full set of blades too but when I looked through them I discovered that this one was not included.
  14. This looks like something I need to make! Would you care to share the recipe?
  15. Smooch!
  16. Elsie, I'm sorry if I was calling you ‘Jo’. My excuse is I was also binge watching ‘Alaska TheLast Frontier’ !!!
  17. I ordered the Pro salad shooter and will let you know how well it works when it arrives next week. I think it just might be the answer to my cheese grating woes! Sorry I keep calling you 'Jo'!
  18. I l-o-v-e turkey when it's well cooked. And I have actually done that! However the best part of turkey is the dressing and the gravy, but that still won't make up dry, tasteless cheap turkey. posted while enjoying a White Russian!
  19. Jo, I ordered the Pro salad shooter and will let you know how well it works when it arrives next week. I think it just might be the answer to my cheese grating woes!
  20. To me, quick breads are any kind that doesn't require yeast.
  21. Btw, this model does have the fine shredding drum Pro Model
  22. Jo, I posted the question about grating parmesan and other hard cheese and was told ithe Sald Shooter did it well. My Cuisinart is big and heavy and stored under my counters so it's a real pita to get it set up, cleaned and put away. I now grate my Pam on a rasp since I don't usually need a whole lot of it at a time. And I know Ina Gatem shreds her Pam in her big FP in big quantities and then stores it in fridge or freezer. I could manage that since it’s be a very occasional job.
  23. See the link in my original post
  24. Jo, I'm leaning toward the salad shooter since it's electric and easier on my hands. My Cuisinart does a good job but I hate cleaning the parts and it takes up half my d/ w.w
