I was at the Total Wine today to pick up some wine. Saw they had Jack Daniels white dog for $49.99. Just had to laugh out loud. Even the Willett 4-5 yr old rye at $40 is a lot for a young LDI rye but $50 for an unaged rye was laughable. I understand it may be a great addition to a cocktail but the price is ridiculous
I've been making baked gefilte fish in a loaf pan for the last 4 yrs. it sure bets out anything from a jar and slices well too I don't have access to traditional carp, whitefish and pike so use cod and other white flesh fish indigenous to our waters like snapper. I've done it with a blend of salmon too which was also good. Any good fish will do (I know many traditional Jewish grandmothers will disagree) but it taste really good made fresh and anything beats out the stuff from the jars
Not with my Tasin just the KA grinder attachment. I rarely use it and it does a poor job compared to the Tasin. The KA is plastic and though I tighten it down hard is be afraid of cracking the plastic if it was any harder
The "gray ooze" has been noted by many users. I have seen it in my meat when using my KA grinder. There are opinions as to what it is. Every thing from lubricant to fat mixed with metal fines as been mentioned. KA says there is no lubricants used in their grinder
I've made gefilte fish using a food pro. Don't you think you could find more uses for a grinder? You won't need much effort in grinding fish so the cheapest grinder you can find
Funny but true. I once filled 2 flasks, one with Bacardi white the other with vodka, so my wife would have something to mix a drink with on a short trip. I didn't label them because I figured it would be easy to tell by smell and taste. Wrong!
