  1. Sous vide duck confit (skin was so soft, it did hold together very well during sear) with sautéed kale.
  2. My pristine beach house freezer. Ice cubes, duck fat, butter, ice packs, vodka, gin. I will take a photo of my condo, it looks very different
  3. Beef jerky in my thrift shop found brand new Nesco dehydrator that sat me back four dollars! No temperatue control but it did a great job! Beef was marinated in soy sauce, Lao Gan Ma, red pepper flakes.
  4. Left over corn beef hash from yesterday's breakfast at Dream Weaver in Prince Frederick near our beach house. They actually make hash in the house! It reheats very nicely. Freshly squeezed orange/Apple/pear/kale juice.

    Dinner 2017 (Part 1)

Onion soup with home made bread. I do not like soggy croutons in my soup, prefer to serve bread on the side.
  6. Roasted chicken with roasted potatoes. Sauces are left over from some take out meal, not sure where they came from. Started eating chicken before the photo was taken
  7. And today's finds: Nesco dehydrator 4 dollars, books 10 cents each. And what every household needs, an asparagus peeler for 50 cents!
  8. Update on my 1 dollar Moulinex: it sliced the whole mess of onions in a minute or so, no tears.
  9. Beans with 65 degrees egg.

    DARTO pans

No, it is on electric. I have an old Viking induction burner that does not recognize some items that should be induction compatible. It was top of the line when I bought it but it is probably time for a new one. Funny story about this burner. My mother in law gave my husband and me a matching pair of Burbery scarves from Neiman Marcus for Christmas one year. Never mind that she is Jewish and that we are not into designer fashion and do not celebrate Christmas. I was delighted to discover that NM sold Viking in their on line catalog. Exchange ensued. I assured my MIL that I will use induction every day but the scarves would not be used often. She was cool with that.

    Salad 2016 –

Brought one day old salad that was part of catered meal in the office and rescued the parts that were still OK. Please don't look if you hate peppers
  14. Thank you for correcting my mistake. I am always happy to enable someone to buy food related item even if it is not the one that they are looking for
  15. I need to make Oatmeal more often. It is so easy to make in Instant Pot. I have steel cut oats that were recently purchased 1/2 price since container was dented (not open, not punctured, just dented). I love those deals!
  16. It shows available on US Kindle for 18.99
  17. I have these Egg Bites on my (distinguished) list of things to try. They may go to the top of the list since it will make for a great snack/breakfast option for my husband who works from home. He tends to go out and eat a lot of bad for him food when he is hungry. https://anovaculinary.com/easy-homemade-sous-vide-egg-bites/?utm_source=01.+Primary+Marketing+List&utm_campaign=89c7b55802-Egg_Bites_Email&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f33347b916-89c7b55802-99873793&ct=t(Egg_Bites_Email)&goal=0_f33347b916-89c7b55802-99873793&mc_cid=89c7b55802&mc_eid=3ea2862540

    Dinner 2017 (Part 1)

    Grilled cheese. Simple and comforting.
  22. I liked this combination a lot. Cooked in Instant pot high pressure 20 minutes after soaking separately for a few hours. The reason for separate soaking is the need to clean dirt that can be present on mushrooms. Now I also have a lovely broth that will be used in making of onion soup inspired by @Anna N
  23. Roasted chicken, freekeh cooked with dried mushrooms, snow peas, salsa verde. DH likes white meat, I like dark meat. Perfect family harmony ensues.
  24. Was making frittata this morning, it broke into pieces. Still yummy. Potatoes, mushrooms, ham, parsley.
  25. Side by side tasting. Decided I liked Four Roses the best. Please don't judge my choices. Just starting to learn about bourbon, whiskey, etc.
