Sorry, it’s a rental house in Sonoma. Very sorry. Barbarians indeed. But carrots were stupendous, purchased at CIA Greystone.

Fried potatoes with truffle paste. Forgot to take photo after mixing the two together due to overwhelming aroma and rapid consumption of the dish.

My cousin and I are in Napa and Sonoma for a few days. We had a great lunch at Thomas Keller La Calenda Mexican restaurant in Yountville. “While Chef Kaelin is from Oaxaca, the traditional Mexican cuisine will cast a glance across a range of regions, including the Baja Peninsula, the Nayarit coast, and Veracruz. The kitchen will nixtamalize Mexican-grown corn for its fresh tortillas, and will import a variety of other specialty products.” We had fonduto, mushroom and al pastor tacos. A glass of Mexican rose for my cousin. I am driving and indulge in aqua.

Love that movie scene!

Two weeks ago on Wednesday I had ramen in no name place. The further proof that I am not a lady is taking a photo of half eaten food.

Lunch at Michelin starred Sushi Taro in DC is way cheaper than dinner. Ten pieces of sublime nigiri, fatty tuna roll, miso soup, two small side dishes for 49 dollars. Crunchy cereal milk shake from Milk Bar of Momofuku fame, calories be damned. Politically correct paper straw.

I am very jealous of @Kerry Beal and @Anna N friendship, mutual interest in food, and Ladies Who Linch adventures. I am not a lady LOL! If I eat out, it is usually with my husband or son. So not too many opportunities for ladies lunches for me. Lately I was offered by my managing partner to take every other Wednesday off. And Wednesdays off come with solo lunches. I am sure that other people on eGullet eat alone as well. Let’s share our adventures.

Longoven restaurant in Richmond is having a truffle dinner on Dec 9th. 8 courses, wine pairing for 250. I am looking for a dining companion who is crazy enough to join me. I can make 7:15 seating. DH is out of town and I would hate to eat such a spectacular meal by myself. I dined in Longoven in the summer and the food was absolutely delicious. They also had interesting wines such as Bulgarian grape Melnik. http://longovenrva.com/

Left over chicken hiding under left over spinach topped with an egg steam baked in CSO. I preheated chicken and spinach without an egg first. Egg was cooked for about 8 minutes and was a little over done while I got distracted. Still very tasty.

Porcini, I think

Thank you. I happened to have a container of ricotta that needs to used up. So ricotta goes with everything over the next few days

My cousin and her husband (pictured here) are mushroom hunting somewhere in OR or CA. I forgot to ask where

@Kim Shook roasted butternut squash with feta, kalamata olives, hot pepper slivers. Peppers were super hot so only a little piece packed quite a punch.

Last night our beach house neighbors had a reception for a recently married couple who owned our beach house before the people who sold it to us. So naturally we had everyone over for sparkling wine toast and amuse bouche.

I feel like I lost a friend although I have never met her. It is so sad. Her posts were always full of info. May be eGullet community can have more face to face meetings...

Salmon with roasted potatoes (not shown). I got too excited about salmon skin compliments of Darto pan.

Never had a petticoat. Shorts (still not boxers) are from Talbots, the ultimate middle aged woman store.
