@ElsieD OK it looks like a [ relative ] outstanding success as you were able to make it yourself. dont get me wrong i wouldn't mind a loaf of that for myself. toasted , sandwiched etc. crouton-ey and no , Im not being wise I do admire all that are doing these things nothing wrong w me BTW C-19 or not.

Id say this ; get a bread that you might like to eat yourself , w ' good crumb ' a billion years ago , almost it seems https://www.pepperidgefarm.com/product-categories/breads-buns-rolls/ had a Toasting White . it had good crumb and was thicker than the average commercial bread. some time after getting a CSO ( ++ ) I looked for that bread , but it had been discontinued rats. get a bread that you would enjoy yourself for fun , a white bread , and a darker bread. Im pleased that you can venture out , so please follow The Rules. thanks agin for your work here """ Amazon Prime @ Prime Day discounts the FBCO by [ fill in the blank ] " one way or another this will be in my Dreams Tonight. only if I open a bottle of TJ's Rouge thinking about it , BTW P.S.: the freshest bread in the store is in the way back of the loafs try that. just saying. don't stay too long in the store , please

@md8232 good points I think there is still hope for great toast from the FBCO however : there seems to be no ' native ' toast setting nor instructions for toast in the manual , which I have but have not read. Im guessing FBCO will not replace the CSO for toast , or your favorite non-CSO toaster. just s guess , not based on experience . I and sending you a few Kudos for putting the FBCO through its paces for all of us.

@md8232 another way to look a this : when you open the FBCO after making ' toast' ( and it seems there my not be a toast setting , leaving you to decide the bake time and temp , which should not be an issue once you have those numbers down ) was there a puff of steam ? if it took long enough to get browning that your toast dried out consider a higher temp , shorter time ? thanks for doing all this work for me everybody here on eG that is interested

the question is : crusty surface and soft inner 1/2 ? CSO accomplishes this by keeping the fresh breads steam in the sealed CSO box , so the bread does not dry out under the heat , but browns nicely.
-
yes indeed. CSO shines brightly on toast . worth it just ask a toaster . remember , not everybody here @ eG was ecstatic about the CSO toast. but id say the ( vast ) majority were. since @md8232 is the Index and might be for quite some time one has to calibrate @md8232 toast-view. back in TheDay Im sure the FBCO would have ' fit ' in the trunks spare tire area after a flash trip to Buffalo. Those Were the Days.

its : 1 ) hype 2 ) scarcity in some sort of combinations . for sure . Kona coffee from Hawaii is similarly way over priced. many ' experts ' suggest that very good to the best coffee from Guatemala is as good or better than Kona. we wont get into the discussion of Jamaican (High) Blue Mountain just now. roasting your own is a great deal of fun !

Cave-Man or CowBoy cuts w Big Bone = $$$$$ profits. bone is sold @ the same rate/lbs as the meat.

very interesting . Tech gone Bananas . if you have a family of 4 , do you need to buy two ? ( see the vids @ YouTube ) Jan 2020 this might have been very interesting. now , how ever, for this to take off , they need to add a Suvie Shopper to go to the grocery store and Motor around ( electrically of course ) to pick up your stuff. as we all recall , there were some similar ( but very different ) ideas ref'd here in the past : The modified CSO that scanned what was delivered to you and then cooked your meal , always *****. ( five star ) I think that fizzled . if their pre-packaged food is up to your personal standards , and you can and chose to afford this and the subscripstions ( until we all get vaccinated re C-19 ) go fo it. its also really important that you dont enjoy cooking and dont get personal satisfaction with prep , knife works etc. pre-C-19 : this is a dud. post C-19 : who knows. thanks for the refs. it is interesting P.S.: in thinking about this for a family of 4 : it would work , Im guessing , but the family would be on the thin side. and no , I have not started in on my TJ's Home-blended dry white wine just yet

Lust is not an appropriate word for a Family Group such as eG. granted I have not been to MarketBasket for 2 months to get the materials necessary to put the FBCO through it paces but ...... its up to Amazon andJB did i mention that JB is on Speed Dial 2 one my phone ? I do have a few shares , less than the number of my fingers fingers dont you worry I have Warren Buffet on Speed Dial # 1 My toes are close to the BRK-B I have recent discount : 25 % when I counted my toes. I dont like to call these Moguls Im assuming they are making very important financial decisions : Im betting they are not.

@md8232 BTW do you think this Dutch Oven will fit in the FBCO ? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00063RWYI/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00063RWYI&linkCode=as2&tag=egulletcom-20&linkId=0692c7f1157a0ea5a5cad00681c5d8c1 the product dimensions @ Amazon are not helpful : 2 x 2 x 2 inches but the one I have is : 12.5 " wide , @ the handles and probably 6.5 " tall @ the lids handles it might be less , hard for me to measure how does this compare w the 7 qt LC ?

it seems odd that the FBCO is not available in Canada.

@Shelby that type of pak ( or bok ) choi is my favorite. dark green leaves and white stalk. if you have Reemay spun garden cloth https://www.talasonline.com/Reemay you can use it to extend your growing season both in the very very early sprig and late late fall I used to do this and got almost a month on each side bok and pak like cooler weather. remedy is sold at lots of online garden supliers and can be used over and over again. boy do i miss those days.

@md8232 im not familiar w the terminology of the FBCO but in the CSO I get super crispy CkThigh Skin , nicely browned and much better over all that baking in a non-steam oven there were little bubbles on the CkTh skin , like a very tasty crispy Ckskin cracker. its outstanding in a CSO P.S.: I looked at your time and temp try steam bake 350 - 375 for longer : 45 min ? keeping an eye on the CkTh's

@kayb I have all that stuff ! will give it a try soon. thanks

I do have a ' supply ' of lower end tuna. from Target.com. and Im pleased I do. my mother put a hot breakfast every day on the table for me and my sister. way over cooked poached eggs , in a steam-over the water aluminum poacher on toast. and a home made dinner every night. the meat sauce simmer on the stove for hours , and took several days to eat she mixed in a lot of pasta and that was that. after day 3 - 4 , pre micro days , the pasta concoction heated in the oven , became a new item : like lazarus , it was a bit crunchy. and the cheese came from Kraft , in the flourencent dark green container I digress : someone taught her to take canned tuna , lower end , and mix it w beaten egg whites , seasonings , an put this on top of toast and broil it. it was very good . we had this for quite some time , and no one complained. it was made daily , not weekly and re-heated. I have no complaints about the food my family had , and what my mother made please under stand , I lived in Spain for two years and two years in France. nothing like a pain-au-chocolat fresh from the bakery 1/2 block away still warm and crunchy , w home made hot chocolate FR I think then didn't have marshmallows at the bakery , so none floating on the top. I was 4 y.o, heaven it was . the plastic place mat was green , and that i didn't care for. it did not resemble a GBP BTW.

indeed in my area , all the tank'd propane has been horded.

Well I do myself have a back-up or two of the ***** stellar ****** CSO now in these times i have not chosen to go to the GroceryStore but after I get Vac'd I can see this FBCO possibly having a place just possibly but w a coupon on two. just to keep me reined in. Im not sure if Amazon will be having any Prime days soon but this Puppy Big Dog [ reliability etc similar or better than the CSO , please ] for $ 350 . shall we wish for ? See ?
