went to Tj's this AM https://forums.egullet.org/topic/155097-trader-joes-products-2017–/page/27/

just got back from my first trip ti TJ's in quite some time. 2 months +++? I was getting thirsty , and called them a week ago or so they had my two table white wines I mix , and the same price and plenty of them. they order what i want , and it shows up from a NE warehouse in about a week or so. Seniors are 8 - 9. Tj's is about 20 Min from my house. I got there at 7:55 Am , and there was a short line maybe 10 people waiting to get in. line moved nicely at 8:00 AM. they have the markers on the floor , for One Lane Traffic. like IKEA I did not see an Expressway ' No Speed Limit ' to get to the Wine Area ,which is in the back of the store to the Left of the door. Traffic starts on the right. They had my ( several ) cases ready at the check out. the Seniors were mostly doing distancing correctly. they had markers from the back of the store , for the grid-lock when they are busy One Lane to all the check out counters. the counter had ' cough ' shields which I take it now days are standard. I was surprised and pleased they were fully stocked . I asked my WineBud , who brought the cases out to my car ( two trips ! ) and she said stocking was the same now as its always been. I stuck to just my cases and a few new suggestions from her on a 9.99 FR white , and a red she had recommended before C-19 that was the best of the table reds I was looking into for the Cave at that time. the new Vin : Ill post here my Tasting Note soon. both are $ 9.99. my table Combo is $ 4.99 /bottle. both at the same price. very convenient . No Calculus needed to figure out the final cost of the Mix ! Now if only TJ's installed an ExpressWay to the Wine , w Vite Check Out .....

@Shelby @Kim Shook OK that was before then there was C-19 now its After and within reason a very rare commodity now its " Sur la Plate " just saying it its not on your " Plate ' well ??
-
@Kim Shook I understand. i take it Mr. Kim doesnt cook too often. so, soon ; tomorrow would be good sit him down to dinner and give him bowl of Tepid Tap Water Soup just say , ............. See we didn't order ............... after that sinks in a few Bowls of LoudMouth Soup ATA Martini's then he can then figure it out himself
-
@Kim Shook Id consider looking at your experience and results this way : """ We kept the order because the other stuff was decently priced and stuff we wanted, " that's a big plus they didn't sub anything you didn't want. you got stuff you wanted.

@gfweb you bet . in my garden HayDays I had 10 different Bibb's , everything planted from seeds in trays initially indoors then outdoors under a HomeMadeCanapy 8 heads each . carefully manicured soil. Initially i had Ajax a yellow lab , an alpha dog to wader around while I gardened. then 10 years later , Ridge , a black lab. he was a PartyDog : knew every dog at the ElmBank and loved to play. one day , w my 20 or so perfect Bibb's doing very well a few feet past a window in my living room ,, open I heard as odd sound ' munch much much ' looks out: a morbidly obese woodchuck who could barely waddle away ate all of the 20 0or so bibbs right down to the stem. did you know there are Bibb lettuce seeds that you can get , that can only be sported on top of yours panting mix ? they need the sun it seems to sprout and your spritzer spray to keel them moist for 4 - 5 days until they sprout ? very pale Bibb's , excellent flavor
-
C*AP Id rather have one of the Bibb's I used to plant in my veg garden root on , of course resting comfortably in the refrig. maybe a few green onions for the tops " Shrubbery " consider any of the other books get them used , works well.
-
@Shelby creamed peas is one of my favorite dishes . a real delicacy never thought to have it w small bliss potatoes. Yummy it must be .
-
all his books are outstanding. look for the used , but in god to very good condition you cant go wrong. I didn't , and bought them new @ an early Amazon. 40 % was the standard discount. The Google Twins wanted to get in on the action , for some reason , and offered a free something or other paying service , and I got 30 % more off. through them but @ the Amazon web site that extra % off didn't ,last that long , a year or so. Hee Hee

@gfweb congratulations ! looks delicious ! lettuce from the garden C*AP ! I remember it well .... BTW this is a very fine book: Lettuce in Your Kitchen: Flavorful And Unexpected Main-Dish Salads And Dressings get it used. all his books are 5 star +++++ https://www.amazon.com/s?i=stripbooks&rh=p_27%3AChristopher+Schlesinger&s=relevancerank&text=Christopher+Schlesinger&ref=dp_byline_sr_book_1 had restaurants in Cambridge , and then S.Shore and a very nice guy to boot.

bake them longer for based on your pic more crunch TJ's has them.
-
@md8232 interesting on the CSO however , I feel that the magnificent strength of the CSO is simple : w experience , you put your untoasted favorite bread in there and end up w Spectacular Toast when the CSO Dings .
-
@md8232 very fine work. a Kudos or two on th way to you I don't know about This nor That but I have opinions . back in the Day , and as soon I can either bake some Good Crumb Bread or get some at TJ's ( Whine Ill pick up soon ) in the Day , putting two ' slices ' in the CSO then dealing w The Cat , and The Coffee etc the CSO did it all for me w no fiddle and faddle I dont see the FBCO as a Toaster good , better , nor the Best.
-
@Kerry Beal nothing wrong w being hopeful but the CSO was made for toast not the FBCO @md8232 nailed it by mentioning the FBCO might be too big. is it a time for an extension to be built into the kitchen lengthening the counters so there might be room for both the CSO and the FBCO ? as the borders are closed , you might use that to your advantage. just a thought.

I love sourdough . I grew up in the Bay Area and there were always several choices later in life that were fresh and locally made. baguette style. but not everything goes perfectly w SDB full flavored cheese goes better w traditional bread I think. so does chocolate . the sourness of SDB overwhelms some of their flavors. plenty nice to have a choice.

@heidih its possible. the real SPAM had a similar date I never started thus never completed my studies. the mice ate it or its SomeWhere Unknown I store a lot of stuff there.
-
found this in the Basement Wine Cellar cave à vin I know I had three cans down there , as I was going to do an experiment : Back When : SPAM ( the real deal ) SPAM low salt ( Still real ) Walmart Brand ( above , still probably made by SPAM ) couldn't find two of them. Didn't know mice could open cans ....... but then N.B.: its well known that Real Deal SPAM lasts forever . but Walmarts take on it ?

@gfweb do them as PinWheels : trim and sesson ( lightly ) roll up , I then use bamboo skewers 1/4 the way down , each side cut in 1/2 , either tie or club the skewers abd grill very hot until a little car on each side rest gobble up. the skirts are thicker that way , and you can get ( very ) rare in the middle and a bit of char on the outside. my favorite Boeuf

@Kim Shook Penzey's granulated powders are the best. its important to keep them well sealed , as they lump up after a while. since i have a VacSealer , I put most of the 8 oz in a Vac'd bag , and keep a little out in one of those small spice containers. works well. sometimes I cut a Vac Bag in 1/2 , as this smaller bag works better. seal the new edge and then the powder. BTW I save 4 cents along the way !
-
@BKEats " 6 lbs of skirt steak "" Holly C*AP ! I can taste them. I always forget : Inside vs Outside : which is better its the thinner one , but I haven't had a SS is so long it doesnt matter that I cant remember. yours look p[erfect . I used to do them as PinWheels on the grill
-
@Kim Shook keep it . use it . its not going to make any difference to them. rememeber , they sent it to you.
-
"" What's the "ideal" for toast? "" the toast y0u like the best. CSO , w fresh-et bread does it for me.
-
thank you again. i believe you are correct : the FBCO might do a lot of things well , and very well its not going to do Toast well. as re : CSO
-
@md8232 you are so on top of this ! i might have to go to E-Bay and find an old but functional https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimeograph machine. you know the kind , smelled like benzene ? for more Kudos your Way. but ..... how do those Toasts compare to the CSO ? Ill oder more ink of the Mimeo just in case !

@jimb0 no, not so much branding , advertising etc does the trick up to you , as you are roasting do a double blind or a triple blind and see for your self I did get some Poop Greens a long time ago from SweetMarias I did treat them fairly and , they were not any better then the greens I roasted at that time same for Kona ., as Kona is a very big place and low mid etc matters a lot for the Bush not for me. enjoy you roasting experiences it's in your Personal Cup
