One of my lady friends and I went down to Galveston this morning, took the ferry to the Bolivar Peninsula and drove to High Island to see the nesting birds at Houston Audubon's Smith Oaks Rookery. On our way back, we stopped for lunch at the Stingaree Restaurant. I had my usual Charbroiled Gulf Shrimp with Fries... ...and my lady friend had a combo of Fried Catfish and Boiled Shrimp.

Lunch with another lady friend today. Our local mall has recently expanded, so we had to check it out! Lunch at Rouxpour. The Zydeco Chicken for my friend. And the Spinach Salad with Grilled Shrimp for me.

Four of us from our birding class had lunch today at Rudy and Paco's in Galveston. I had the Grilled Gulf Red Snapper with Carrots and Cilantro Rice. The other ladies had the following: The Pasta Special - Farfalle with Grilled Chicken, Asparagus and Mushrooms with a Parmesan Cream Sauce. Slider Trio Special - one each Hamburger, Pulled Pork and Lobster Sliders with Potato and Sweet Potato Fries and Slaw. Paquito Taquitos - make your own Taquitos: Grilled Chicken with Mini Corn Tortillas, Guacamole, Tomatoes, Jalapeños, Lettuce, Cheese, Refried Black Beans and Maduros with Sour Cream

Corned Beef and Cabbage Soup (with Potatoes and Carrots) made with some of the leftovers from last night's dinner.

Hi HC, I followed your method for my corned beef and cabbage dinner last night, except I used only the spices in the packet and only half the hot sauce. My husband really liked the heat the hot sauce added to the cabbage! Thank you!

Motel Room Nachos - used up some of the leftovers that have accumulated over the last several days while my lady friend and I have been on our road trip. Tortilla chips topped with shredded carnitas, frijoles, shredded cheese and salsa. I preheated the shredded pork and the beans separately, then put them on a layer of chips and topped it with the cheese and salsa. Nuked the plate just until the cheese was melted.

My traveling lady friend and I arrived in Aransas Pass from San Antonio late yesterday afternoon. Today we spent the morning visiting a couple of the bird sanctuaries in Port Aransas and went to San Juan's Restaurant for lunch to refuel for an afternoon of more birding and photography. My lady friend had the Taquitos Mexicano with Frijoles. And I had a Crispy Beef Taco and a Refried Bean Tostata.

I had the WOOD GRILLED FISH FILLET (Cobia) Garlic-mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables and boudreaux herb butter at Boudros on the San Antonio Riverwalk. My lady friend had the HOUSE SMOKED JUMBO SHRIMP & GULF CRAB ENCHILADAS Wrapped in spicy tomato pancakes, ancho chili sauce, queso fresco and creme fraiche, black beans and pecan rice pilaf

After spending the morning visiting the four missions on the San Antonio Mission Trail, my traveling lady friend and I met up with one of my long time lady friends at the Guenther House for a late lunch. We each had the Chicken Salad plate.

One of my lady friends and I are on a five day road trip. Our first stop was the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin. We had lunch on the patio at the Cafe. We both chose The Tower salad.
