  10. Dinner out at Floyd’s in Webster with my husband. I had the Crawfish Half and Half (Etouffee and Fried Tails) with Onion Rings. The dinner portions are much larger than the lunch portions, so lots of leftovers for me for tomorrow. My husband had the Chicken Fried Chicken with Country Gravy and Potatoes Floyd. No leftovers for him!

  15. No, it’s rice. I usually use jasmine but I used basmati this time and, for whatever reason, it came out all squiggly.
  16. I thought I recognized that tin! I have the same one, given to me by a neighbor over ten years ago. When I received it, it was filled with my neighbor’s homemade brownies, as a Christmas gift. I have used it to hold the paper filters for my coffee maker ever since.
  17. Instant Pot Porcupine Meatballs and Caesar Salad
  18. Leftover Quiche Lorraine, from yesterday’s lunch at La Madeleine, and Orange Juice.
  19. Last Thursday, my two sisters and I flew into Phoenix (we live in different parts of the country), rented a car and drove down to Tucson to visit for a few days with our dad and his wife. After spending Friday morning at the fabulous Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, the three of us stopped at Angelo’s Pizza & Gyros on Ruthrauff Road for lunch. Each of us ordered the Gyros, so I only had to take one photo!
  20. Flat Iron Steak and Pepper Jack Cheese on a toasted Ciabatta Roll with horseradish mustard and mayo
  21. Flat Iron Steak - marinated in red wine, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and salt and black pepper for several hours in the fridge. Steak was allowed to come to room temperature and then browned in coconut oil on sauté in the instant pot and removed to a plate. Deglazed the pot with a bit of water. Onions sautéed until soft and starting to brown, then added the steak and juices back to the pot. Added the marinade, whole canned tomatoes and their juice, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian style seasoning to the pot. Cooked on Manual, High Pressure for 20 minutes, Natural Release for 25 minutes. Removed steak and vegetables from the pot and thickened the sauce for gravy and seasoned to taste with more Worcestershire sauce and black pepper.

  23. Beautiful photo!
  24. Today, a lady friend and I met at The Rouxpour Restaurant and Bar at Baybrook for a leisurely meal to catch up with each other. 25. Floyd’s in Webster - I had the Grilled Catfish with a loaded Baked Potato (all the fixings on the side) and my husband had the Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya. Leftovers will be dinner tonight.
