Actually, I am a native Californian, but was raised in St. Louis. I've only been in Texas for the last 31 years. I like all kinds of chili, with and without beans!

I had my leftovers from Saturday's lunch out at Floyd's. Grilled Catfish and Dirty Rice - gently reheated in the microwave while covered with a damp paper towel.

Back to Floyd's in Webster for a late lunch/early dinner. Chicken Fried Chicken and Fries with Gravy on the side for my husband. Grilled Catfish and Dirty Rice for me.

Sorry, but I am the wrong one to ask, as I have never made polenta. My husband likes his stew served on bread, so maybe.

You are welcome. Sorry no, I just used my own pot roast recipe which uses a 2 to 2.5 lb chuck roast, 3 cups of broth (divided use), 1/4 cup sweet vermouth, a couple teaspoons or more of worcesterhire sauce, garlic to taste. I used 3 large red potatoes (peeled and cut into large chunks), four large carrots (peeled and cut into large chunks), 1/2 large white onion (cut into wedges), several button mushrooms (sliced thick), 1/2 cup frozen peas, and several sprinkles of xanthum gum.

Thank you! I cook the meat first, then add the vegetables. Here is what I did this time: I seasoned the meat with salt and pepper, then browned it in the pot. Then I added beef broth, sweet vermouth, worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, a bay leaf and cooked on Manual at High Pressure for 15 minutes with Natural Release. Added the potatoes, carrots, onion, mushrooms and more broth and cooked on Manual at High Pressure for 6 minutes and Quick Release. Thickened the gravy with xanthum gum, added frozen peas, covered and left on Keep Warm for about 20 minutes.

I have not found that to be the case.

The Roti Canai is an Indian style pancake served with a curry dipping sauce. The pancakes are crispy on the outside and layered and flaky on the inside. So good! The dipping sauce is their base for their Chicken and Potato Curry, without the Chicken.

Two recent lunches with two different lady friends: Last week, after a morning of birding and photography on the Texas City Dike, my lady friend and I lunched at Taqueria La Hacienda in Texas City. I had been there before, with my sisters in June, and knew my friend would like it, especially the charro beans! My friend had the Chicken Flautas and I had the Beef Tacos Al Carbon. Today, another lady friend and I met at Malay Malay in League City, where my husband and I had dined for dinner last week. My friend had the Masak Lemak Chicken and I had the Roti Canai appetizer and a cup of Tom Yum.

Quick, late lunch at Sawa Mediterranean Restaurant and Grill in Houston's Clear Lake Area Chicken Shawarma with Garlic Sauce for my husband, Gyro for me (there were onions and tomatoes tucked in there with lots of tzatziki sauce), and a small piece of housemade Baklava to share.
