    Dinner 2022

@Duvel my favorite meal for sure. We just had spaghetti a few days ago, but I could sure eat it again! @Ann_Tbeautiful chicken! Roasted chicken quarters in the CSO Fried bass, spinach, Mac and cheese and roasted romanesco And last night, both venison and beef steaks on the grill with cheesy potatoes and honey mustard Brussels sprouts from @JAZMore here.
  3. Ronnie was hungry for steaks, so last night seemed the perfect night to try a couple of recipes. I always seem to have Brussels sprouts around, so the Honey Mustard-Glazed Brussels Sprouts on pg. 46 was the first recipe that jumped at me. Very easy and very good. The only change I made was to steam the sprouts for 2 minutes instead of 1...we like ours more on the softer side. I put them in a bowl and kept them warm in the CSO while I moved on to pg. 42 Cheesy Smashed Red Potatoes. @Smithy's looked so good and Ronnie never met a potato that he didn't like. I only have what the bag says are Yellow Potatoes. The skin is thin like red potatoes so I figured it would work and it did. I was trying to be mindful and not take the path to hell, but I probably still over smashed a bit? They were absolutely delicious and not gluey at all though. Definitely keeper recipes. Quick. Easy. Only dirtied the IP....and, while Ronnie grilled, I sat down and enjoyed wine!
  4. I agree that this recipe looks like a good one. Were the potatoes in the casserole that you want to replicate shredded like hash browns?
  5. Pickled clams sound interesting.

Amazon continues to amaze me with their delivery speed to me. Thank you @KennethTfor the wonderful enabling 😁
  7. Ok, so I thumbed through just now and I've landed on the Honey Mustard Brussels sprouts--I have all the ingredients and wow that sounds good. I'd do them tonight but I've already prepped other veggies. Soooo tomorrow
  8. Got the cookbook just now!!! Not had a chance to look through it except to see the dedication
  9. Gorgeous @FauxPas simply gorgeous!

I think you're my kind of people 😁
  11. Oh definitely try the Muffuletta cheesecake. It really is a keeper recipe. I just ordered this cookbook from Amazon and it's supposed to be here tomorrow--maybe the quickness is due to the hugs Amazon warehouse that was built and is like 30 minutes from our house. I've been getting things a LOT faster than I used to. Anyway, I'm excited!!! A bit off topic, I also have the dessert cookbook that Janet wrote that I have GOT to dive into...life keeps getting in the way...but SOON I promise. Does anyone else have it? We should make a separate topic if so.

You're absolutely killing me. KILLING ME. Sushi looks so fresh and good. And those dishes. I NEED THOSE DISHES. Ditto on the killing me Tritto (thrice of the ditto) especially the hollandaise one. And no. No one can remake The Goonies. Nope nope nope. Once again I've been feeling meh. So super windy that I can't get into the garden to plant...well, I could but the seeds would end up in either Oklahoma or Nebraska depending on the hour of the day. A big pretty salad to cheer me up along with spaghetti, bread , sauce and some new to us sweet Italian sausage that we LOVED. It's Longhini brand that I ordered from Misfits. Really good. Sandwiches and Arby's fries that I bought frozen at the store...not as good as getting them from the restaurant, but a fun change from the usual. Veggie quiche that turned out really good--I needed to use up a lot of things including a baked potato that I grated up in there. And hash browns....bacon that needed to be cooked and sausages Yesterday the asparagus sprung up and the lilacs sprung out! Asparagus salad and spinach/canadian bacon/pepperoni calzones With pretty flowers on the table that smell heavenly
  13. Nah, that was just me.
  14. Yeah....the wind is something else here isn't it???? I mean, it's Kansas, so it's always windy, but not THIS windy and for so long. Last night I couldn't sleep the wind was so strong I thought the house was going to blow over.
  15. It's getting close to the most wonderful day of the year again!!! I'm leaning towards making Hot Brown's this year for the first time--if I can get my hands on a turkey breast. If not, I wonder if it's sacrilege to use chicken?
  16. When you say good tea, do you mean tea that tastes good, or "fancy" type teas?--not to say that this can't be both lol. I've hated hot tea my whole life. HATED IT. Somewhere I heard the most apt description ever "Tea tastes like a hot, wet brown paper bag" . But, I've lately wanted something hot to drink in the mornings and the caffeine in coffee makes me feel icky sometimes so I turned to tea. I actually like the fruit flavored Celestial Seasonings a lot. Favorite is tied between Blueberry and Mandarin Orange Spice. But, also enjoy the Lemon Zinger..and the others listed are drinkable too. I use two bags per mug and the largest setting on my Keurig coffee maker. Disregard this post if you're looking for more high-brow suggestions 😁

@gfwebThat bacon in the eggs looks wonderful. I need to remember to do that. @JoNorvelleWalkerYum on the pasta dish. Venison cheeseburger pizza, peppers and mushrooms The usual broccoli salad and (very) hot wings to go along with the first USFL games And then Easter Prime rib done at 220F until 125F in the center and then rested for a while. After that put under the broiler for a tiny bit Crab puffs Not quite @weinoo's spargel, but inspired by a bit......I've had this canned asparagus (I know, I know, but I like it) from Spain forever and thought it sounded good. Especially since I only had those two sprigs of asparagus ready from my garden. Broccoli with cheese sauce (Ronnie had a baked potato, too, to put that on) This wine to go with Anyone that knows me around here knows that I am perfectly happy--even prefer--my Franzia boxed wine . I know NOTHING about wine. But this was good. Dry...but fruity. Fruit salad Boughten raspberry pie that is to die for.

I've learned to have some sort of bib or napkin while I'm reading about your trip to mop up my drool. That tartare..oh my. I sneak slivers of raw venison and steak all the time (no lectures please lol) so I know I'd love that...never had it. And...it's Easter. One must have deviled eggs for Easter. It's a southern thing here in the states, maybe, but it's a must at my house now and all when I was growing up and Grammy and Mom made Easter dinner.
