  1. How did I miss this??? I'm so excited to go on a trip! That water is amazing. Can you drink it straight from there? Does it stay light all night? I am on the edge of my seat with anticipation
  2. Yeah I agree with the others. If it sealed and counted down (as you well know) and they were that raw there is something wrong with the IP itself.
  3. Eggs straight from the fridge? 1/2 cup of water? On a rack? Low or high setting? Just getting more details.

    Lunch 2022

Hmmmmm....I don't remember seeing it, but I'll look on Sunday when I order next.

    Lunch 2022

I know it. I just don't know where to start....make my own not knowing how it's supposed to taste? Or try store bought--which I don't think is easy to find around here?

Don't beat yourself up. I've never even eaten kimchi .

    Dinner 2022

Oh believe me, ours get woody and hard. Especially at the end of summer...and if we let them stay on the plants too long. I've had my share of yucky beans.

    Dinner 2022

@Kim ShookRonnie cold smoked that roast @ 170F for 4 hours. Then I SV'd it @ 135F for 2 1/2 hours. We use a long knife to slice it thin and either warm up the slices in BBQ sauce on the stove or serve the sauce on the side to spread on the sandwich. Depends on how lazy I'm feeling lol. Found yet another pack of doves in the freezer. I swear they are reproducing in there. Did the usual stuff with jalapeños and onions, wrapped in bacon and roasted. Potatoes and @Jaymessquash from the garden. Last night the usual salad And a shrimp arrabbiata of sorts. Best part was more homemade ice cream and mulberry syrup that I made from anther pick that Ronnie did.
  9. So nice of you! The best compliment is when someone takes time to go back and read older posts because they enjoy them . Hunter already has plane tickets for September so you might as well book yours too

    Dinner 2022

It's more like a roast pork sandwich. The meat is sliced, not shredded or pulled. I love French too--and Dorothy Lynch! Made creamed peas and new potatoes with taters from the garden. OH so good. Also at the first squash along with some fried chicken Fedex screwed up and didn't deliver my Misfits box until yesterday afternoon. Should have been Friday. Everything inside was very warm so I quickly made a fruit salad out of the grapes, blackberries and blueberries that I had ordered. To go with I made Greek chicken gyros. First time. We really liked them. Tzatziki sauce with dill and cucumbers from the garden. Garden tomatoes and onions too.
  11. We are getting one or two grape tomatoes a day....picked a couple very small Early Girls that weren't very good. We've gotten so much rain that I think they need more time to really get going. I believe it was @kaybthat told me about making sauce from skins but I had forgotten about so thank you!
  12. Thank you so much--I feel like I'm a rerun lol. I will
  13. That is hilarious!!!!! Ronnie is still laughing. Sigh. Kenny G. That's sad lol.
  14. It's a ziplock bag filled with extra brine to keep the cucumbers submerged. Not fancy but it works. If you make extra brine you don't have to worry about the bag possibly leaking water and diluting everything.
  15. Picked enough cucumbers to start a batch of crock pickles. You guys have seen this before, but I took pictures so you get to see it again 🤣 Dill heads from the garden. Grape leaves that Ronnie picked for me from the field. Extra brine to weight it all down. Now we wait for 2 weeks and check. If they aren't done they will go for another week.
  16. Should have explained that better. I put them in the bottom and on the top of my crock that I brine my pickles in. Supposedly helps keep them crisp.
  17. I think we're going to have a bumper crop of potatoes this year. The plants aren't dead yet (meaning they are not ready to dig) but potatoes are popping out of the ground! Pulling onions every day. Lots of cucumbers. Hoping to get enough jalapeños to pickle a batch and can them. I sent Ronnie down to the field for some grape leaves. Starting a crock of pickles this afternoon.

    Dinner 2022

@Kim ShookLOL! I guess my plate had smallish portions.....I do remember that Ronnie wanted a separate plate for his salad so he had more of a regular portion. The plates are just normal sized. Now I want cabbage rolls. @SmithyI'm so hungry for ribs but I'm forcing myself to wait until 4th of July weekend. Yours look so good. So do @Norm Matthews'. @Ann_TYour greek salads always inspire me to make one. I'm hoping I have some feta buried in the fridge somewhere. Ronnie's daughter brought him some really nice filets for Father's Day so he grilled them for us. I made brownies and some ice cream in the Ninja Creami for dessert Lots of cucumbers from the garden happening. The grocery store has pork roasts on sale for 99 cents a pound. Ronnie stopped and got a few. We think those prices won't be around for long. Smoked one and then I SV'd it for sandwiches. Last night was spinach, mushroom and Canadian bacon calzones

    Steak? That looks super tender.
  20. Yep. I'm going to be 48 soon and I remember them for sure. Thought I was super cool pretend smoking with them ....well, who am I kidding. I was super cool 🙃 One more comment. I've never seen hash over rice before. Is it BBQ-ish type sauce?
  21. I'm so excited!!!! Those prices are really quite good for this day and age and the food. Oh my. I'm sitting here wishing I had it all in front of me. You've inspired me to throw a small piece of pork in the SV that Ronnie had already smoked. I need pork sandwiches for dinner now! And the banana pudding. Love love love.
  22. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread. Gave me a few laughs. I had the same thought as @KennethTregarding the corn on the salad. I've said it once or twice but I'll say it again. EVERY time I see or think about corn I think of @liuzhou. As I was planting 200 seeds of sweet corn in the garden I thought to myself "Boy, would he hate this". As an aside, the jazz band (???) pictured outside the restaurant invokes more of a cajun food type place for me......
  23. I don't go through a ton of sugar so it's been a while since I bought some. I needed smelling salts in the middle of the isle. $8.00 for a 10 lb bag of Domino brand. Cheapest available. These hummingbirds I'm feeding better appreciate me a little more 🤣 EDIT I LIED. The sugar is Best Choice brand.

    4th of July

Bump! What happened to us last year lol? Maybe a new thread was made and I can't find it? Serious craving for some kind of seafood this year. I really want briny fresh oysters, clams, shrimp.....sigh. I could order but it's going to be really hot. We just bought a slab of pork ribs and Ronnie cold smoked them. They are now back in the freezer waiting to be finished off. What's everyone having?
