I canned tomatoes the other day and had a jar that didn't seal (arrrrrgh). Yesterday was unseasonably cool, cloudy and rainy so we thought venison chili sounded good. And I used up my jar that didn't seal. Rancho Gordo beans....everything else was from our garden. The peppers are hotter than hell.

Picked some Silver Queen corn yesterday. I planted 200 seeds and not even half came up. I have no idea why. But, even if I can't freeze any, I'll take what I can get. I canned another 4 quarts of tomatoes day before yesterday and one didn't seal. That irritates me to no end. Perhaps I should go bath to the water bath method....I dunno. This is my counter right now. I remember some years having all my counter space filled with tomatoes, but I'll take what I can get this year

Well, shoot. I was hoping that your tomatoes had just taken a little hiatus and would come back on strong. Do the plants themselves still look ok? If so, you may still get another round.

I would have stuffed myself silly had I been eating with you. Then you would have to roll me home for a nap! I think I say this every time I see one here, but I would so love to try a turnip cake. Love turnips.

Those mini tortillas might fit perfect in the Instant pot to make one of those tortilla pie type things.

Ok, so are these people that gather making food and selling it or is this like a picnic in a park where friends/family gather and do their own food? Everyone brings a big slab of cardboard? Some people make walls out of cardboard?

Gotta love increased vigor So, were the above mentioned toads actually bullfrogs? They look so very different from the bullfrogs here (we used to hunt them all the time...midnight, flashlights....there may have been a lot of beer involved--twas fun when I was younger...not so much now lol).

I'm not KQ, but the box is big. 20" long and 6" tall. I don't keep it in a drawer or a cabinet. It rests in the laundry room on a hamper.
