  1. What happened to the guy that started this thread? He only posted about this resturant but wasn't associated.. yeah right sure (cough).
  2. What is the address of this place for those of us that didn't know where BICE was?
  3. I'll have to stop there on the way home and do a book report. I wasn't impressed with the place on 22 Texas Weiner II. Something strange about everyone ordering burgers and nobody ordering dogs. Woof.
  4. I remember Winstons on Route 22 which was attached to ECHO LANES. Across the street from the LIDO DINER. All of which are gone!
  5. On the next run perhaps we can start in Newark at Dickie Dee's and then hit JJ's (might be more fun when it get's warmer out). Then we can head up 21 and hit the more northern places. John ever heard of a place on Stelton road - I think called Frank's or some name Texas Weiner? It's in a brick strip mall. Probably in South Plainfield or Piscataway. I pass it on the way home sometimes.
  6. Don Shula's steak house. A few of them in South Florida. One right on A1A on Ft. Lauderdale Beach and I think one in the Doral area of Miami. I never went however.
  7. I had Dinty Moore Beef stew and some salad.
  8. I remember my parents would get them from a deli on route 46 (near Piaget) in Clifton. Was it the Villiage Deli?
  9. Where in Verona was a place called America? I don't recall it.
  10. Canton Tea Garden - Journal Square, Jersey City.
  11. There is a Dan Marino's in Ft. Lauderdale at the Las Olas Riverfront and we used to walk over from the office and have lunch there sometimes and I was never really impressed. I never saw Dan nor his Isotoners there either! Great story.. can't wait to hear more! -NJ2FLA
  12. I love Jaxson's as well. Even though I am now living in Boynton Beach I will surely stop there after making a few bux at Jai-Lai!
  13. Same here John. Hopefully you remember me from Rutt's Hut! I'll be hitting the MAC machine in the morning!

    Baja Fresh

Definitely similar, 'tho the only thing I've ever had at Qdoba is their (steak) burrito in a bowl--and I get it EVERY time I go! Not often, but when I do get it, I think it's pretty tasty for what it is. ← Don't have much other choice in Short Hills Mall!

    Baja Fresh

I have tried Qdoba and it was "alright" - are these chains similar?

    Migdalia's

Ok now I am STARVING and homesick for Florida!! I love those croquetas.
  17. OOo.. I'd love to join in. I was going to join John a few months back but wasn't around that weekend. I travel a lot and I never know much when I am going to be around. During the winter I try to spend as much time in FL as possible! I know one of the weekends in January is a 3 day weekend for some people.
  18. Hi all. I would be interested in coming out next month but a weekday would be difficult for me. I would be free in the evening for a north jersey event. I don't like sushi so I would pass on that. I would be interested in going to Lou's place in the evening perhaps. -Scott aka NJ2FLA
  19. Funny how a place on the West side of the road has East in it's name twice.
  20. I like the Essex Grand Buffet in West Orange in the Essex Green shopping center. I think it's excellent but I am biased because I am good friends with the owner. I have tried many of these buffets here and in FL. I went to one on 17 somewhere north and saw a cockroach walk by the table. I also tried the one mentioned by Willowbrook and found it to be overpriced for a weeknight meal. There is also a new looking buffet on Route 23 north maybe in Pompton Plains that is pretty decent but a bit pricey for what she offers.
  21. Ut oh.. a trip from Verona to Montclair is going to have to take place soon!!
  22. Being from Verona maybe I can help. I know the place changed owners about a year or so ago. It's your basic take-away or sit down with a few tables. I was never impressed with the food.
  23. I think the Harolds in Parsippany is owned by Greeks and it's changed hands several times. RE: Rascal house - I'll be down next weekend maybe I'll take a trip over and see some of my waitress friends that work there.
