  9. Nice !! Itis fun to see all your things Tammy and Lapin d'or!! I guess Easter is very soon- so I wish you all a very happy Easter! I bet it was fun for the 5 year old to decorate chocolate eggs!!
  10. Well while making the bowls I also made His pnut b cups. I used allmilk choco so the color differences are not as obvious but it worked perfectly: a peeled view: the bowl-nothin' special - a gentle decoration in the inside -but wanted to document anyway!! Kerry-thanks! So to sum up to make sure I get it right: Regular powdered colors- red, blue, yellow, white, green and a neutral luster dust. Thanks!!!!
  11. Kerry! Wonderful!! They look good! Now to figure out on even coating and even rim height!! The colors make it look like a porcelain or ceramic bowl!! Amazing! I went backtosimple and dipped into milk chocolate and made a tulip bowl. It was good. I made a small design at the bottomof one by drawing on the balloon with milk choc mixed with a bitof gold powder. I have to order colors. I have tons of cocoa butter so I thought to order powder. At chefrubber they have different types-what do you recommend? I also think warming the knifein not necessary. You can slice while the chocoalte is still not totally hardened. Tammy- those tulips are really nice!! Congrats!!!!
  12. Hi! I assume you MUST be Elaine...?! I have your book and will go look . Thank you SO much. If I decorate the inside of the bowl, then the chocolate bowl's outside will be decorated. This can be nice. I appreciate your advice! Thanks and it is really fun to have you here!!
  13. Is there a way people cut cakes in half accurately? To fill...
  14. I did cut mine in the pics above as you can maybe see. A very sharp knife ever so slightly warmed. The uneven-ness was the problem.
  15. Isn't that something!! So simple and beautiful! Of course, it always looks so easy when done by masters!! But he must have a method for getting that nice rim you see on his site. I think he cuts it but how does it come out even? Maybe on a sheet like mentioned above. I will try again next week!!
  16. A bit late-been soooo busy... Yemenite charoset a la my MIL: 500 g pitted dates, best Madjoul type 300 g nuts-she uses only walnuts but pecans can also be used in addition to walnuts In a meat grinder alternate between putting the nuts and dates in. At the end add about 100g or so ground almonds and at least 1 and 1/2 cups of sweet kiddush wine. You may need a bit more. Add cinnamon, nutmeg and powdered ginger. This is a charoset the young adults in our family are literally addicted to.
