Seriously- My editor claims there is such a thing, and wants a story about it. Naturally, knowing of eG, I volunteered to do the story (if, that is, no one jumped on it before I did). I also figured that this might be an interesting thing for the rest of us to follow, too. So, can anyone give me info? photos? You can PM me if that is easier, since I would like to use photos in the article, if and when I get the assignment. --Thanks!

Thank you! I preserved a batch of lemons in salt too. But I was-until now- unclear as to how to use them. BTW I also preserve ginger in vinegar. They are wonderful.

I was eager to try something, so I made macaroni and cheese using ramen noodles instead of elbow macaroni. No pictures

The best place for dim sum is CAI in Chicago's ChinaTown. They have some interesting bakeries there too. And, IMO the absolutely best Chinese teashop between my area and the Mississippi is Dreaming of Tea in Evanston.

Since your rout connects to I696 and I75, you can stop at American Coney Island for what is in MHO, the quintessential Detroit culinary experience: http://www.americanconeyisland.com/menu.htm

I love trying a new Chinese restaurant in a new city. I especially enjoy finding Chinese-Chinese places rather than American-Chinese places. And, it really makes my day when I find a dim sum place that does good phoenix talons!

I enjoy Gallo Vermouth. It is very tasty, and I cook fish in the white.
