Hey it is good and those packet=s of crunchy bits (if yours has them) - nice I usually add some green or red onion and couple splashes of vinegar
-
@Shelby on the chicken thigh price - are they skin on, bone-in or?- what is the price that sends your guy into orbit?
-
@FauxPas that is an attractively tidy and lush looking garden. I am more towards the Ruth Stout side https://www.homestead.org/gardening/ruth-stout-no-dig-duchess/
-
@Shelby nice! Glad the steamer pot lived up to expectations. So the round darker bits are sausage? I am panning to buy my yearly bagged Asian salad tomorrow. What is your go-to formula?
-
Opinion on that chickpea pasta? The pasta shelf t local market has been skimpy and for some reason half is taken up by fully stocked gluten free such as you mention.
-
kimchi as topping or added in? Beef? Do you bun it with a locally available bread or eat nekkid?

Is there a lot of OMGF never before seen glacier melt discussed? That fish does look like simple perfection. Are the striations the way the fish flakes or from the pan? -
With Covid numbers up so nobody I know is doing gatherings but we can still be festive solo. Can't get to market until tomorrow but my plan is: Sausages browed in pan (no grilll) - will see what they have that looks interesting Hot sweet mustard (I'll mix up) Corn - on cob if the ears at store are not that small kerneled insipid sweet stuff. If they suck I'll do a salad with good canned corn , tomato, red onion, dressed ith @David Lebovitz's tarragon https://davidlebovitz.substack.com/p/tarragon-vinaigrette or cilantro if tarragon looks lame Bagged Asian salad (a once a year craving) Good cherries and spiced chocolate chip cookies (promised to some workers so I'll snag a few for myself)

I am hungry. Looks like a bowl of chocolate pudding streaked with marshmallow creme. -
Did they have the fashion shows too? Filled avocado "salads" with tiny shrimp? sort of lie these Buffums memories http://www.octhen.com/2010/09/yorba-room-at-buffums.html#

Ok the "not supermarket" dog" My personal preference is the veal based wieners from German market just brought to temp. If they split ok pull em out, Super hot mustard is all they need.

OMG so did I!!! Now that is a hoot.

Oh yes - it makes that lovely perfect burn circle so you look like a self-harming person.

So what creates that water color - the underlying formations - like the blue on white sand places? -
I'v often enjoyed them just tossed directly on Weber grill (a few may fall but it works). Or under broiler - gotta stay close. No torch here but nice idea.

Generally yes but in my experience they can be heavy when still greenish .Not so much a matter of ripeness affecting juiciness as the growing conditions Long off the tree and drying up- another story mostly with those limes that come up dry. I had a neighbor with a big lime at our fenceline. I could just reach over and pluck. She never used them - thought it was a lemon tree as they turn yellow when really ripe. They watered regularly so very juicy and fragrant. Her eyes got big and she laughed when I told her it was a lime and had her smell a cut one. Raised in the Philippines she did use the calamansi from her heavily fruited 2 trees.

Or puree as some do. Sounds fun. https://forums.egullet.org/topic/110467-brussels-sprouts/?do=findComment&comment=1502075

@PatrickT If you like that taste and texture profile, have you considered Nancy Silverton's chocolate cherry bread? Might be fun. https://www.thefreshloaf.com/node/17293/nancy039s-silverton039s-chocolate-sour-cherry-bread#:~:text=Silverton's version also uses commercial,eating%2C but tastier results IMO.

Find myself salivating literally at the langoustine ahead, and mentally at landscape images. Anticipation is high. -
Is that a single crouton off to the side? Nice looking lettuce.

Oh you will never forgive him his HoJo time

Whatever the name I know I'd put it in my cart. Beautifully vibrant. I don't think I've seen it before but the big Chinese market here (99 Ranch) tends to put the various choys in plastic bags with several in a bag. I think it keeps the ladies who dig through piles looking for "perfection" from bruising up the whole bin.

Wow that is pretty getting us to drought reality. Thanks for the info. Acceptance of reality is hard for many. My environmentalist buddy says "they won't believe it until they turn on "the tap and nothing comes out.
