Those Boston Baked Beans I remember being in the dispensers where you put n a couple cents, tuned the dial, and openedflap to have it pour into your hand. Sometimes stale, sometimes good. My cousins and I would walk from grandparent house quite a few blocks to Kresge - a 5 & Dime that had a huge display of all those types of candy. We were maybe 5 to7 years old. different era.

Eating, hiking and driving around Southern Iceland

Some nice last meals (and a few duds) - but that is real life. The image that looks like a fist pump - symbolic of something? The church architecture - stunning. I've sent it to a landscape architect son of a friend who works internationally to see if he was familiar. That pipe organ sound really physically grips the body doesn't it? So is your wife trying to recreate her fave breakfast chia bowl at home? Thanks again for the detail esp the vistas. -
Flavors sound nice. I like roasted tpmatoes. I'd add a sprig of rosemary , thyme, or oregano. Feta does run the gamut from creamy to crumbly so that may have been a factor in graininess. I'd be more inclined to bake/roast the tomato + aromatics, then put in pan with feta and let it melt till creamy. The pata water and noodles could go same time. Should not take more than a warm u of minute or so to meld it all. Many here like to roast the tomatoes in bulk and keep as a flavorful ingredient for such quick assemblies. They freeze well. I also like your plate shape.

Super sweet of you. Hope she was able to enjoy it.

Good grief Charlie Brown - how much is in that tank?

Here they are deceptively marketed. Price per pound, bag is wide open - so theoretically could move some to another bag. I have not done that but will check next time if they weigh the bag. The mind games marketing "geniuses" play

Cherries I have been willing to pay for. Really good and I've been pickling the ones I can't finish in time., Ridiculous price but I'd not purchased in a couple years and I do recall even at Farmers Market they were no bargain. These guys are plump and flavorful. As I have said before, I've just become more selective about what I think I need or "crave". Like yesterday paying for local honey (well Malibu) from a beekeeper versus market.

Ah! You'll have to let us know how they turn out.

My favorite apple grower specializes in Fuji but has other varieties. He has some extra land and sometimes did seeded watermelons. His sign was very clear and people moaned with joy - "oh I miss those!".

"hogs" - perfect and gorgeous. On the cantalope - I think it is just a growth anomaly. - like conjoined twin cherries.

They do make a nice presentation. Scallop friends - YES! My son picked lobster as his sea creature for a report in 2nd grade. We bought a large Maine one. Dog was not amused. After careful m eat extraction I boiled the shellin vinegar water. Not a whiff of sea funk. The report cover held up for years. May be in a storage box somewhere even now.

I have had good experience with of all places the DMV. Worth a try.

I had to call a bee guy to assess a situation. Knows his stuff and nice. He took care of the kids - no killing, and asked if we had some space to trade for services. Somebody had bootlegged some hives next to my old stable awhile back and he said he'd get rid of the stuff - make Fire Dept happy. Turs out he keeps hives all over and I bought a jar. 12 oz - $10 - unprocessed. Mostly from Santa Monica mountains - Malibu canyon so sagebrush in the flower mix. Id been looking at honey at market nd price and provenance did not impress. I am happy!

Oh we all have goofy stories like that. We got a new oven. Sister insisted on taking over the turkey for Thanksgiving. Miss Continual Baste. I went outside to scream and breathe. Came back after a while - no lovely roasting bird smell. Turns out the new oven is so bleeping smart it shuts off if you have door open over a certain time. Convection setting helped, meal quite delayed. Hope your chicken was eventually tasty.

Substituting packaged juice for freshly-squeezed juice in recipes

Good flavors. I thought elderflower was pretty subtle but maybe it will add an interesting note. -
So re the eggs cut around the equator versus lengthwise? Different to me

But my first reaction was that juicing fresh apples yields a whole hella different flavor than store juice unless you have a fresh press source which some framers markets and such provide. -
Have you considered that since it was a restaurant it was deep fried perhas? Also that crust reminds me of Willie Mae's Scotch House in New Orleans. They use a very liquidy wet batter. It you go to about minute 8 on Mark;s video he describes how the crust does not pull off from the skin. And wow is that crunchy craggy https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=3005075206428476

And the bonus is that all the deviled egg gas passing happens outdoors

Oh no! Such a vibrant, passionate, opinionated with good reason, woman. Going out to garage to bring Oaxaca al Gusto to a place in my bedside reading table. Her impact is enormous.

Sure rice washer is useful. I am not familiar with the story related about the gods but I find my hand swirling in the water kind of "zen" and don't lose grains even with my semi-functional hands. However I use the big cooker with max 2 cups rice so not as "risky". I am washing directly in the pot and over tie and a lot of rice am pretty decent at compensating for any residual water in the proportions.
