Yes citrus is late. Our tangelos are super juicy. Dad just brought me ginormous lemons from Rancho Mirage.

    Breakfast 2020!

@blue_dolphin All looks good but you are killing me with the blood oranges. So beautiful. It has been forever since I had one. What would you say is unique in their flavor?
  6. Oh heck that is how I ended up with a piano years ago. BevMo does tastings on the weekend (free) - the carts are piled full m- lots of "cheeery" shoppers.
  7. Interesting to see people's choices even when they would not be mine, Sometimes nostalgia reigns. I even asked the ex and he oddly said your pepperoni pizza. Huh?
  8. Although I do eat sauerkraut my experience here has never presented it on a hot dog. I suppose exploration is in order.
  9. Oh the boys. One was checking out the veg garden (tortoise MIA) and brushed against celery.. Mrs K! this smells like celery. yes dear that is what it naturally looks like. We got out some peanut butter and he munched away.

    Dinner 2020

As always I could be so wrong but the vernacular here is that oxen are older and that is not cost effective so what we see are steer tails. (castrated males) The girls get milked i think. Feed lots are scary places- flashbacks...
  11. Oh I like chard and have often grown it but it is different to me from kale. I read these stooopid articles about kids not eating vegetables. Little boy down the street would wax eloquent about the chard he grew with grammy - he enjoyed it with a bit of butter.
  12. Bitter sweet but remember "Ralphina? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Honeymooners My sis is Christine - supposed to be Christopher. Edited to clarify sitcom reference: The Kramdens—and later the Nortons when those characters were added—are childless, an issue only occasionally explored, but a condition on which Gleason insisted. Ralph and Alice did legally adopt a baby girl whom they named Ralphina (because he actually wanted a baby boy he could name after himself but fell in love with the baby girl the agency had placed with them). However, the biological mother requested to have her baby returned
  13. This should be interesting, Kids all ate at the one on Western. Amazing the amount of food skinny teenage boys can consume https://la.eater.com/2020/2/13/21136645/mitsuwa-market-torrance-food-court-opening-photos
  14. Ha! Madeline crumbs seem more on the Zen/contemplative spectrum
  15. A take on the childhood favorite "If You Give a Moose a Muffin"
  16. Oh my - adorable. I am about to send my kid a pic of something he gave me years ago. I am sometimes too quick to divest. Glad I saved it. Unexpected guests on the way - I better hustle. thankfully salmon, shrimp, and spinach in fridge. and good rice and a loaf of country bread around. People!
  17. I like the sound of fries and the Z dip. Heavy Middle Eastern population here so various blend abound.
  18. I really like lacinto kale! Great in a Portuguese Caldo Verde
  19. Nice! I imagine your friends are lined up to be willing and happy guinea pigs.
  20. Also the issue of promotion by "Councils". Don't get me started on dairy. There s a great moment in this interview where Misha Collins talks about being solicited by the Kale Council to rep for them. Kinda hilarious. Around minute 23 or so https://soundcloud.com/user-306003081/special-sauce-misha-collins-on
  21. I can read. New York is not middle America. Cost is an issue. Mushroom guy at my big farmers market struggles tremendously. Ok maybe not at Santa Monica or Hollywood where the big time chefs shop but that is a niche.
  22. Not in the US in my guesstimation. We have fungi fear. Kale goes into those green smoothie things. I'd buy the big portobellos at the dollar store and bozos would look at me like I was risking my life for a dirt looking item. Love them personally although y'all can have the skiitakes - do not do it for me.

Wow what a mainstream manufactured sauce selection including lots of Kraft. Its a Small World - sorry for ear worm m- designed by a woman back in the day when Disney was female heavy, Food very enticing.

@Kim Shook Too much to take in all at once. You killed me with the mussels. Gotta breathe and read slowly. Feeling inspired. Oh and not a Costco girl. Argentine wild redd shrimp in freezer will have to suffice.

    Lunch 2020

What a selection of comfort food. My first po'boy was in a canoe in the Louisiana swamp off Lake Pontchartrain - acquired from of course a gas station. Guide said it was 2nd best. First place was on vacation. Best I ever had.
