so sad to quote self but... got back and NO SPILLS even with a long white skirt(it was too freakin muggy to wear pants), two beers, and besides the appetizer, an entree of grilled duck breast salad with bleu cheese, walnuts and a raspberry vinaigrette though the husband's (a petite little flower) napkin was definitely the worse for wear after the bbq shrimp appetizer we shared - and he did point out - without benefit of reading this site, he was wearing black jeans so it wouldn't show anyway -
lou's awake from his nap..... if you do it after hawkwatch season(december) can i come too? i love nothing more than protein in all it's lovely forms and escorted in the city by such men i would feel quite safe(i am a country girl at heart and DO hate cities and crowds - heck, i only go into morristown every 5 years to be sworn in as a notary because i have to).

Any tips on catching squirrels? Looks like Varmint's gonna need 'em. i use bow and arrow. makes very little noise if you do it right and, since i live in new jersey, albeit the less populated northwest corner, the en con officers don't show up at your house.

Side meat comes from the rear of the pig's belly, between where American bacon comes from and the back legs. It's usually cured with salt, but not smoked. It's fatty and sweet -- fatter than American bacon, but leaner than fatback. The word "unctuous" comes to mind. ohhhhhhhhhh.......... i'll take a pound of unctous on the side thanks for the explanation dave

I was just going to add that, as a large-breasted woman, I consistently have to purchase new shirts and blouses. Never, dear Fat Guy, have I ever had the problem of any sort of food falling into my lap. Nay, my ample bosom intercedes... *sigh* ditto that is why i am forever asking the mother-in-law for white shirts/blouses for birthday and christmas presents -
substitute freshly caught and skinned squirrel for rabbit eliminate pork side meat- uh? what is a pork side meat? rest looks good

well..... the husband was supposed to head for aberdeen(md that is) earlier today for meetings tomorrow so i figured coolllll... lamb well, after getting home all of a sudden there he was at quarter of 5... too tired to drive so he needed a nap(needless to say no lamb cooked while he was in the house). when he woke up at 6:30 - grilled bologna and scrambled egg in a pesto wrap. i skipped dinner. just grilled the lamb burgers off; had made yoghurt cheese with green onions and cumin so guess that will be tomorrow's dinner

and don't forget the hand operated can opener we have a full complement of camping gear including a one burner propane stove, flashlights, a wind-up radio, and a backpacking water filter we could use on the lake water in an emergency. my pantry is four 6 1/2 foot shelves bolted back to back filed with all kinds of tinned and dried foods, water(we keep 5 5-gallon containers there that are rotated on a regular basis) and paper products.

yeah, what she said. actually that's when i get to cook my lamb burgers, lasagna, macaroni and cheese, veal, spiedies.....all the things the husband won't touch. many times i'll try a new recipe and invite one of my friends over to share since all her husband will eat is meat, broccoli, corn and cauliflower. even if i am alone i'll take the time to set the table, put some nice music on, use the real crystal and pour myself a glass of wine. actually the husband is going camping/family wedding this weds-sat so friday night i think i'll fire up the grill, set up the outside table and open up the jacuzzi... kate - congratulations and i hope you have many years together

HEY - where is the freaking blender pictures we were promised immersion or otherwise i want to see them!!!!!!

it's date night so fish/seafood of some sort. john requested shrimp wrapped with (turkey) bacon so it is ready to go in the oven when i see the blue of the outback. brochettes of yellow squash and green pepper drizzled with olive oil and sea salt. toss up between udon and rice. also did the dinners for the next two days(when i work late we eat at work so we have more time together) - chicken cordon bleu with parsley potatoes and a spinach salad and unfried chicken nuggets with trader joe's peach salsa. not sure what i will send with that protein but i have two days
