  1. I got em! Came in the mail today, they had to ship it twice, but everything finally came. Thanks to Warner for his concern and help with the issue. Ben
  2. Wierd, I tried some coffee roasting the other day for the first time. I did it on my stovetop in a nonstick pan. It worked fairly well, but even roasting of the beans is definitely an issue. I think I need a smaller pan so the bunched up heat of the beans roasts them evenly instead of contact with the hot pan itself. The latter seems to be a problem since the beans are not round, rather they are flat on one side. Ben
  3. The key would be to look at the arrangement of your toaster's heating element. Do they match up with the horizontal hole on your bag? Ben

  6. An update on the bag delivery: I still have not recieved them, but have been speaking with Warner. He is very enthusiastic that I recieve my bags and wants to make sure they arrive. For some reason they have sent them twice and they have not made it. Crazy Post Office! Ben

  13. I dont think the prices are all that out of whack... they seem to have pretty lofty aspirations with their menu and the prices follow suit. The steak prices are just that...prices for good steak. Tsquare, if you like the filet, you should try a rib cut of some kind. Ben

    The Republic of Tea products are very good. They have a great White Tea that has a very subtle headiness to it. I love it, but it is 15 bucks for a tin of the stuff. I recently got some toasted rice green tea bags from Leaves Pure Teas that is pretty nice. Ben

  16. I have always wondered why alcohol does not have nutritional information on it. It really does make sense...especially if every other human consumable product has to have it. Ben
  17. Aging prime meat costs big bucks. I don't think that these steak places are ripping people off that much. My personal preference, however, is to not spend that much money on a hunk of beef.

  25. The baby octopi are definately an experience. I thought they were pretty decent, more interesting than tasty. I do think that mashiko's does enjoy messing with its customers when they ask for omakase. I enjoy being messed with, but I have to be in the right mood.
