  1. Just out of the oven. Going to make Hot Chicken Sandwiches with fries for dinner.
  2. Anna, great that your pan fits. But I understand wanting the one without the handle. So do I.
  3. I lucked out. I put the rack in the lower position and my cast iron skillet just fits. It is 15 1/2 to the tip of the handle but on the angle it just clears the door. I still want the 8" and the 10.25" . So I think I will go ahead and order those.
  4. Anna, I thought of you when I saw this pan. I don't do many loaf breads but I'm thinking I might need this one too.
  5. Good thing I saved on the oven. I've place three items in my basket on Amazon. Won't order until I get back from town. Just in case I find something local. Ann
  6. I kind of like this one too.
  7. I think that should work Rotuts. I just put my cast iron skillet in on the diagonal and it just misses by 1". It is 15 1/2" to the end of the handle. So I would think that anything under 14" would be okay. The skillet itself is 10".
  8. Rotuts, thanks. I will look into both those pans. Blue_dolphin, thank you. Either of these would be perfect. I'm going into town today and will look at a couple of stores that carry Lodge. If I have to I will order.
  9. Rotuts, can you put that pan directly on a stove burner?
  10. I looked through the manual looking to see if there were any instructions prior to using and couldn't find anything. So I toasted...........Homemade bread. And it past the toast test. We like our toast well toasted so I started it out on the #6 setting. I did have to set it for a second time but for only an extra two minutes. Next time I will go right to the 7th setting. Was still quicker than my old Cuisinart convection toaster oven. Which only got used for toast. I am going to look for a small roasting pan today. One that will fit in the oven, but can also be put on the stove. I want to be able to make gravy in the same pan a chicken is roasted in. Unfortunately my favourite cast iron skillet that I use for roasting won't fit this little oven.
  11. I haven't filled the tank yet on the Cuisinart. Would you advise using Brits water? I always have Brits because I need it for my espresso machine.
  12. No, last night's pizza and bread wouldn't have fit in the oven. But it looks pretty on the counter. First up will be toast this morning.
  13. In this case it was free delivery through Best Buy. Ordered Thursday and delivered today. I do a lot of shipping to the US and Canada and I always use Canada Post.

    Dinner 2017 (Part 6)

Still had some bread dough in the fridge from the batch I made on Wednesday night. Made a plain cheese pizza for dinner. Cooked on a stone on the grill. Matthew shaved some parm on half the pizza when it came off the stone.
  15. @Shelby, I'm at work today. Moe called me to let me know that my Oven was delivered today. Not sure when Canada Post started to deliver on Sundays, but I can't wait to get home.
  16. I've used the Pressure setting and the Slow cook setting and today I tried the Steam function on the Breville PC. Ready for the Pot.
  17. Used the steam function on the Breville PC this morning for chicken with garlic and ginger. Ready to be steamed. Steamed for 15 minutes. Moe's breakfast is served. I'm working today so I'm taking the same for lunch.
  18. Batch of bread dough, 1000g went into the fridge on Wednesday night. Took enough out yesterday to make one loaf. Came of of the oven late last night. Sliced this morning for breakfast toast.
  19. Took a loaf of bread out of the oven late last night. And had leftover NY steak from dinner. So Moe's breakfast this morning was toast and leftover steak. I did offer to cook him eggs but he was happy with just the steak and toast.

    Dinner 2017 (Part 6)

@Kim, reminds me of my mother. I think because of her I'm immuned to food poisoning. I grew up with gas stoves. The kind with pilot lights. We usually had holiday turkey dinners around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. For space purposes, Mom would put the turkey back in the turned off oven for a few hours. Incubating from the heat from the pilot light. And there was often still stuffing in the bird.

    Dinner 2017 (Part 6)

So many wonderful looking Thanksgiving Dinners. I'm with Suzi. I'd be happy with just the mashed potatoes, gravy and peas. I decided to cook something "turkey" for dinner last night in honour of American Thanksgiving. Stuffed Turkey Legs. I got a head start, by boning out the legs before leaving for work. The legs were stuffed, roasted and served with mashed potatoes, rutabaga and fresh green beans.
  23. I've started reading through all the posts on the CSO and getting advice from Shelby. Wasn't in any hurry to purchase but have been watching the price on Amazon.ca and Bestbuy.ca. Yesterday Best Buy had it priced at $279.00, Checked this morning and they had it on special for $219. CAD. plus free shipping. Couldn't resist. Not sure what the difference is in Model numbers but the one available was the CSO-300N1. Still have some reading to do before it arrives.
  24. Thanks Mmmpomps.
  25. Wow, I wouldn't have thought to do beef that I wanted to be rare, in the PC. Was the roast sitting on the rack above the water? This is probably a dumb question, but was the beef tender and the texture of the meat similar to roasted?
