    Kraft Dinner

We serve it with hotdogs and call it gourmet night Actually the other day I made extra ...took the extra, rolled it into little balls and egg wash and breaded them. Then I popped them into mini muffin pans and baked at 400 for about 20 min...not half bad, needs work but....
  4. I made the word up, to mean a vegetarian that will eat meat once in a while. As a joke. Only, when they need extra protein or iron of course. Or just can't resist a great steak, ribs or hot dog. ← What really struck me as funny is I know a vegetarian named ....Megan tracey
  5. Range hood? Bah dont even have one...oven cleaner...I really should, someday...mop the floor, the peel and stick tiles come up... I have the cleaning chore from hell ahead of me, should be done tomorrow having guests next weekend... Did I mention we live in a log cabin? with no exhaust fan or nice painted flat sheetrock? Tomorrow I must scrub the logs behind the stove. Someday I will scrub the very low, very beautiful hardwood ceiling and make that the same color that I made the cabinets when I moved in tracey

  8. I had one of the best meals of my life in the Camelback area...if I only knew where the heck I was...we must have found it in the local guide at the hotel. Somewhere off the main road I guess 611...it was waaaay down a dark and lonely road. We almost gave up and then there it was, an Italian restaurant in the middle of nowhere. So maybe ask if anyone knows of such a place. They served a fresh mozzarella broiled on a sizzle platter with toast to scoop it up with...oh well tracey
  9. We had a party at work today somehow related to the babies in the 3 Kings Day cake...also related to "imbolc" We had tostados made with black bean sauce, queso blanco, lettuce dressed with lime juice and tomatillo salsa - awsome rice and peas roasted chickens lemon chicken honey mustard chicken salad with cashews and mandarins tossed salad with avocado pineapple pie chocolate mousse cake and tres leches cake good thing we were doing assembly line idiot work after lunch tracey
  10. What about a very thin "splotchy" layer of royal icing on the wooden parts, let that dry and it can be a rough base for the butter cream to grab onto.... My husband would flip over an airplane cake. tracey
  11. Gee and I thought these were pretty cool flavors.... http://www.rt11.com/default.cfm?URLKey=ChipGallery the dill pickle is awsome and Mama Zuma is really really spicy tracey
  12. Uh, this is why when I have 14 guests for dinner in 2 weeks they will arrive with 6 bottles of wine and 1 chocolate cake. I dont have room for 16 people in my house, but I can cook so I am hosting this ...thing...all out of fear of having 1 bad meal at one of their homes. that is Wanal tracey
  13. I gave up on the silpats - 2 Airbake cookie sheets cost the same as 1 silpat and give similar bottom "protection"...I really love these pans. Not that any of us use canned biscuts but you would burn the tops before the bottoms with this kind of pan T oh yeah the cookies maybe a hotter start temp then drop it but you would really have to watch them
  14. truffled mashed potatoes and pate of course, right? tracey

  17. The problem I have had researching for vacation food is that we are rarely in the right place at the right time. I hit it right in Danversport MA once when we made it to Admirals for the Veal Oscar but they dont just do veal...they have Filet of beef Oscar, and Salmon, and Chicken breast too....Mmmm But on a trip to the Outerbanks we managed to pass Bubbas BBq at 9 am and the Apple Dumpling place at 4pm...hopeless. On my return trip this summer to Knoxville we WILL find Spooky's BBQ and make it to Littons for a burger and pie I promise. tracey

  20. Lets see...cut off the fat and reserve, cut 2 pieces, switch fork to right hand, scoop up onions onto fork, stab some meat, eat and repeat until there is nothing left. Then delicately nibble the crispy bits of fat and gnaw on the bone. Now when there is really nothing left call the dog in. She got a bad diagnosis today so she got the bones and fat. tracey
  21. A good deli sandwich should have about 1/3 of a pound of filling - same usually for stuff like potato or mac salad....1/3 pound per person. Easy soup creamy potato with bacon or cheese...or both tracey

  24. Last summer we went from NJ to Knoxville, TN with a couple of friends. Probabley the second thing we tell others about the trip is how uniformly bad the service was all the way down and while in Knoxville. From the hotel clerk in Roanoke VA to a hostess that wouldnt seat us at a table vs a booth( both 4 tops). We just seemed to have the worst luck...arrive in time for a restaurant to open the upsatairs dining room, but with no server for it - to the completely and admittedly clueless waiter at a Mexican place, one of us actually walked around the place looking for him. I really cant fault the mentally challeged cashier at the Wendy's in NC. but it was just the way our week was going. Good thing the last meal in TN was a self serve BBQ that was wonderful and when we sent the young'un to get 8 icecream pops the ladies obliged Actually all the food was damn good and the waitress at Aunt Sarahs pancake house on the way home was lovely. tracey I know my daughter doesnt tip the "creepy waiter" at our local diner she say he looks at her funny tracey
  25. Sometimes when I was was working in retail gourmet food the package was the most important part of the product. At one of the Fancy Food Shows I actually told someone their product tasted amazing but it just wouldnt work for us because the label was ugly and made the product look cheap. It was a shame, because sometimes other products made the cut just by their lable design. tracey
