And I believe Jersey City has more Cubans then Havana.

IMO the Korean Place looked like it had the best food out of all of them.. I did think the Bobolink was way too long.. It was an entertaining show..

Leaving this Thursday.. And in typical fashion, we are getting nervous.. After crazy car rental prices, I think we have it worked out.. It turns out to be much cheaper to rent the car in stages.. Our first leg will be to rent a car from Vegas to Seattle.. Going first over to San Fran and then up the coast.. We are then staying in Seattle a couple of days and dropping the car off.. From there we are re-renting and heading over to Minn and up through Ontario.. I am not sure how excited I am to drive through that area food wise.. Would it just be better to go from Minn down to New Orleans through Memphis and then back up to New York?

Instead of the quail there is duck.. They removed the veal course and replaced it with nothing.. Maybe the Maki Rolls in the beginning.. They switched the pork belly with bacon and swiss chard with kentucky fried ice cream for short ribs with collard greens and sweet potato... Basically, I think the Maki Rolls are going to have the ink jet print on them.. I dont really like the fresh squeezed orange soda at Moto and I am thinking the best thing on the Short Ribs dish will be the cool way he will most likely link the potato together.. I also dont like the switching so soon to the date.. Makes me think something might be wrong.. Either way, I am sure its going to be a great dinner...

I think that whole Long Branch area is kind of tough in general.. I mean that little Condo Mc Neighborhood they set up there is so ugly.. And starting at 700 g's .. The architect should be forced to eat at Rooney's everyday.. I dont think there was any consideration given to the surroundings.. Not even giving those horrible condo's any sort of windows to look out on to the ocean.. I think they should just bulldoze the whole thing into the ocean and start again.. Gross.

Wow, the crew from Moto cut their menu a lot.. I just cancelled my reservation, just in case anyone else was going tomorrw night..

There seems to be a lot of chatter about NB other places.. People are talking about all these Oaxacan places, but no one has mentioned any names..

Hey, thanks a lot.. By the reviewers own words, he said it was hard to go wrong eating Mexican in New Brunswick.. This definately makes we want to start exploring.. I have been to the majority of those restaurants mentioned.. Really like Los Molinas.. New Brunswick is a good food town..

Good news about Tony Luke's reported by Andrea Strong.. Supposedly, they are moving around the corner and opening a place that seats 80 and serves liquor.. They are to open in Sept.. Hopefully this will turn the place around..

My parents took me this weekend to Rooney's Crab House in Long Branch..First impression, I hated this place.. Walking in, we were I guess you can say greated, by some "better then you" I think I'm cute, tart.. After seeing a ton of tables out side, we were told those were for VIPS.. Hmm, VIPS at 5'oclock.. Those tables remained open for the length of our meal.. After the five of us were seated at a four top, we kindly asked to be moved to a five top.. Since the restaurant was empty, we figured it wouldnt be a problem.. After an uncomfortable five minutes, while watching the staff do everything short of pulling out protractors, we received clearance.. No less then five minutes later, a manager walked over and asked us if we were told we could change tables.. While gripping my butter knife and clenching my teeth, I nicely said yes... Rooney's Crab House.. On to the food.. The menu was vast and extremely pricey.. I didnt have high hopes for this place and I wasnt disappointed.. We started with a bunch of different apps..We got steamers, crab legs, calamari, and a dozen cherry stones.. Our waiter, who was as far from Italian as a bologne and mayo sandwich, felt compelled to pronounce the Calamari in typical Southern Italian, now living on the East Coast Fashion.. Your Galamad is ready.. Thanks, but the Galamad tasta lika crappa.. And at like 15 bucks.. What a bargain!!! Cherry stones.. Steamers were extremely small, really expensive, but good.. How bad could anything be dipped in butter.. The crab legs were pre-frozen.. Was soggy with the melting fresh water ice crystals.. Gross.., Next we moved to the entrees.. My girl got the lobster quesadillas.. Oy veh.. Next.. My father got the Ceviche.. Which was essentially boiled seafood served with a limey tomato sauce.. Gross.. I got the jerk swordfish.. 24 bucks and pretty good.. Except for the asparagus which was grey and slimey.. The swordfish was less then 6 oz.. Dont spoil me here.. There are three reasons why I would come back.. One being, to meet my parents.. Two being if they tore the place down an opened a decent restaurant, and the third would be if I was 50 years old and divorced and I felt like spraying on some hair and picking up a 20 something yr old bimbo with my convertible corvette that I would have purchased. No thanks Rooney..

Some interesting information.. I am having trouble finding Paramount Modular Concepts in Oakland New Jersey.. They might lend some help to the matter.. But it appears this site is saying the JC was the first place, but it appears they might be a bit bias.. My Webpage

So i decided to check out the other original WM.. Dont know about the history, but presently the place in Hackensack is the hands down winner in terms of burgers.. I really love the potato roll, they give you more onions, and the patty is bigger.. JC wins with pickles, fries, and the fact that they are open 24/7... Another cute building, more cramped inside, had a stronger onion smell.. My order was placed on the grill with a few others.. Just look at all the onions they use... Fries are fatter and not as good.. Just seconds out of the fryer, I am not complaining.. Just can compete with the potato roll..These burgers are amazing.. Oniony, juicy, a thing of beauty.. Still with the cheese on the bottom..

Yeh.. To me thats a huge cop out.. To talk about how a place plays a huge part in history, while not being able to describe its history, thats weird to me..

Understand that New Brunswick has a large Mexican Population, I was hoping there would be a few great places there especially for lunch today.. It can be from Taco Stand to nice place.. As long as no one suggests Marias Cantina, I am ok with it..
-
Fat Guy, New Jersey needs you.. Can you please get to the bottom of this ..
-
Which comment .. Mc Donald fries or the claiming that JC is the o'giginal..
-
Ok.. I think i solved the WM mystery.. The WM in JC was originally from the Worlds Fair in 1939.. It was then transported in two pieces to JC in 1946.. The main difference between the two places is the one in JC does not use potato rolls.. Got three burgers with onions and cheese.. The cheese is on the bottom... Prefer on the top.. But still very good.. The buns were a little off today.. The fries were absolutely perfect.. Crispy, salty, and fresh out da fryer.. An excellent version of Mc Donalds..

Last night I took in food from here.. I ordered the King Fish in red sauce, the churrasco, the tripe soup and the tres leches.. A good value, but the food was off.. The churrasco was completely cooked through.. It was dry and grey.. The beans were average.. One interesting thing was that they served a side of what tasted like Chinese Black Vinegar with it.. Plaintains were good.. The king fish was a huge amount.. They real gave you a ton.. It was fried well and there was no freshness issues.. The red sauce was good if a little bland.. The tripe soup was boring.. Didnt have much taste to it.. Almost tasted like the same sauce the beans were in.. For dessert we had the tres leches.. This was rather tasteless too. A yellow sponge cake with milk poured over it.. Didnt have the sweetness from the other two milks. All accompanied by a couple of glasses of Bacardi Coconut Rum.. Didnt know this thread existed until after I ate.. Will go with your suggestions next time.. Anyone try the soupy rice dishes?
