  1. Hey Daniel, anyone going on roadtrips like this, with an appetite like yours, is man enough for me! Seriously.. thanks so much for this report.. I enjoyed it so much.. when's your next trip? ← Thanks for reading Chufi and for validating my manhood.. My next trip comming up is for work.. I am leaving for Canton and Hong Kong on the 17th of October.. I am trying to find a day to head over to Macau... ← Anyway, I didnt know where to post this.. But I didnt want to seem like a liar.. I have been in a lot of pain for the last 6 weeks.. With my ear drum bursting twice in that time period.. I have had a really painful infection and have been ordered not to fly by several ENT'S.. (I couldnt even get one shady one to say it would be ok ) So needless to say, I have postponed my China Trip and had to cancel my arrangements.. Luckily only losing 100 bucks in cancelling the flight.. Also missed two trips to Chicago in this period.. Hopefully, I will be well and posting my trip before the end of the y-EAR... Daniel

    Low Calorie Recipes

Diet is not a bad word if used in a sentence properly.. For example: My diet consists of rich foods and desserts..

    Dinner! 2005

Holy Cow!!!! and shrimp, and chilis and lasagna, and pork and lamb and dinner partys and bananna breads and Patricks Desserts.. I go away for a couple of days and come back with all these fantastic things to look at.. Just all so impressive and what wonderful stories and times shared with friends and family.. As "Holiday Season" gets under way, your average person starts planning meals and get togethers.. Its so cool that people here dont need to be told by a calendar when its time to celebrate.. Life is a celebration and why be confined to a "Season" .. Thanks for sharing all yalls..
  5. So nice of you... They look awesome...
  6. Tell us the story, tell us the story..
  7. Wish I had brought my camera just to show you guys the outcome of the car accident I was in.. On the way back, the taxi I was in, ripped the front bumper of this 100 grand mercedes.. The taxi driver still had the humor to charge me 7 bucks.. We had the conch in wild pepper sauce.. Cold noodles, and the hottest dish there, the sour vegetables, the dish which is second from the top on the old special page.. There are a couple new dishes on the menu , at the 50th and 9th Location.. The pork with peppers and pumpkin is great.. We bought a bottle of rice wine, and some azhou beef dish.. Place is great.

How many people were you serving Jinmyo? Everything sounds like I wish you took pictures, what was your favorite kimchi..
  9. Cant wait to see the 4 layer cake you are making.. What an inspirational idea..
  10. Just one piece of cake for you Ling.. You must have had a big lunch then...
  11. Great job Tejon.. I hope you won the contest..
  12. Ok.. Another late night sandwich I regret making.. I am going to wake up so full tomrrow, I'm going to get a cramp on the way to brushing my teeth... Me and the girl stayed up way to late and got into this conversation about making a BLT.. It turns out we used all of our ideas and things got weird.. Besides the avocado, there was hummus involved.. Joining the gym soon...
  13. Ok.. I have a new angle on regrettable foods.. This morning I regretted combining this sandwich with a night of drinking vermouth and port..
  14. Kthull, Wow those are soo cool.. Those fingers are amazing! How do you make those.. Have you ever made a whole hand.. How do they taste?

Had another solid meal there this evening.. The five year old loves the frito misto.. As do I.. Its calamari, a whole red mullet, and a few pieces of shrimp.. After I debone the mullet, she eats the entire thing..Tonight she wanted to eat the head, I am so proud of her.. She also ate most of the "o's" aka calamari as she calls it.. I never order calamari anywhere, but I must say, its exceptional here.. Light, crispy, fantastic.. Another stand out is the tiramisu.. The best I have had in the city.. Its a huge square of cream filled with chocolate chunks and just a little soaked cookie at the bottom.. The pasta with clam sauce is just ok.. I had a veal special tonight with mushrooms that was really enjoyable..
  16. He let a mere female work for him??? No way! ← Is she allowed in the big boy kitchen?
  17. I decided to have the guy who sits next to me call and ask in Spanish.. They dont carry it..
  18. Dont feel sorry for his wife, they still have a great relationship because he was spared having to see her give birth to their children, so he is still attracted to her.. So although she cant use his car or his kitchen, she still is allowed to sleep with him..
  19. All of the other dishes you have tried seem to be indigenous to the areas you were in.. Guinea Pig or Cuy, I thought was more popular say in Peru then New York.. Your best bet would be to go to a pet shop.. But I would be interested to hear if places serve it in New York.. One thing that I have heard good things about is the Tepezcuintle or Paca.. This is a larger rodent and is popular in Mexico, even being served to the Queen of England on a visit to Belize.. I also dont know where you can find this, but would love to know..

    Chili – Cook-Off 15

I was totaly kidding, Chili really is one of those social things.. The great thing about chili is how easy it seems with the few ingredients used, but the combinations are limitedless.. Give two people the same ingredients and you will get two different tasting recipes.. And I would like to add another 1/3 of making chili.. So we will actually call it a 1/4.. The trash talking aspect

    Chili – Cook-Off 15

I cooked the tenderloin for 40 minutes.. Then added the peppers for another 30 minutes.. I made it after work.. Started at 6 was eating by 730.. The meat was really tender.. And I used a loin of pork not tenderloin sorry....
  23. The purpose of leaving the egg whites out was so they could evaporate a little and help my macaroons be more stiff.. I dont know if freezing them would help this process..

    Chili – Cook-Off 15

Markin, Awesome recipe.. Thanks so much for posting it.. I followed the recipe besides adding a little more cumin and some corn flour to thicken.. I roasted 20 poblano peppers, added 2 pounds of cubed pork tenderloin and covered with liquid that was soaking the peppers... It was great.. Garnished with shallots, cilantro, cheese, and creme fraiche.. I like this better then last nights chili,, Spicy, great fresh flavors, the pork was perfect..
  25. Hmm.. Patrick my girl seems to be going with you on this one.. Becca thats very interesting with the out of the fridge ratio.. I am really at a loss here.. I am just getting over an ear infection and am on several anti-biotics so I think I would be safe .. Maybe I should give the doorman a macaroon and go check on him in a couple of hours.. What to do, what to do.. I think I am going to toss the whites and start over.. I could use a couple of days between desserts.. Ok... Management just decided we are going ahead with the recipe and yup, I am most likely the tester.. Will report or have someone report for me.. Daniel
