Okay, it's a Friday afternoon and I'm bored at work so I'll pick a nit with this. So my map drawn by Americus Vespucius and printed just today is still good today? Okay, like I said, I'm bored. Sorry. Here's another one you can call. And Ladera is not in this list from winecountry.com. They must charge a pretty penny to be on that. I was talking about the ones in the Hotel lobbies, Restaurents and wine stores that are for sale. Most people don't bring laptops on vacation. (I do). Thats funny that map dosen't list The French Laundry as a place to eat in Yountville.
  2. I once trained a waitress that since we had a 30 minute lunch that when she saw us get out of the truck she should get us a pitcher of beer and go where she wanted us to sit. We went there so often we would order as we sat down. And have a beer. Then the food and out the door. This was long before cell phones and she got a 25% tip every time. Service is about service . I tip well cause I know what it's like to work for a living. If you've got a deadline let them now.

Most publishers will not fix it till the next printing. Why should they recall sold products cause you changed your name. Maps are only as good as the day they printed.

You can either afford to eat out or not. The cost is the cost. Cook and clean at home or relax and enjoy the nite out. Geez!!!

How many cases did they do? We do 130-140 with friends and no truck.
  9. You have just embarked on the single most stressful thing you will ever do. Take it from me I'm a contractor. Please think this out first. We hate and charge for changes. Moving something 6 inches may not be a big deal to you but when the sub has left the job it could be MUCHO DOLLARS. Your forewarned.
  10. There was a French fellow in Sonoma who was going to raise and sell them back in the 70's and actually would come pick them up. Then he discovered that when cooked they looked like pencil erasers . Not plump enough.
  11. Try the Henri Bardouin Pastis if you can find it. It's the lightest that I've tasted and My personal favorite. http://www.franceway.com/w3/Travel/regions...nribardouin.htm
  12. Cafe Rigio on Geary? They had Rafanelli on the wine list!
  13. Try Rocky Point if you like meat. http://www.rocky-point.com/ and a view.
  14. Are you staying in the town of Sonoma? Cause it's a big county.
  15. I had a friend years ago who when he had to move would look to his most destitute friend or friends (He had many) and give them a drawing of his new place and the keys. Then he'd take them to his old place and give them a little pep talk. Then he would fly to some nice spot for a week and when he got back he was moved and they had some money. He ate really well while moving.

Ya gotta get over that or your not gonna eat. Natural and manmade disaster's will happen and those who know how to keep food the old fashioned ie confit, etc, will eat. You go to the Supermarket every day your hungry. Yeah I'm tryin to change. cry-o-vac is always slimy what do you think a vacuum is?
  17. Another plug for pull out shelves. The alternative is all drawers. That space in the back of a conventional cabinet is no good if you have to get on the floor and grovel to get to it. Inevitably, stuff gets shoved back there, forgotten about, and is rendering that space unuseable so you haven't gained anything.
  18. Kinda like going to San francisco and hanging out a Fisherman's Wharf. Real touristy.

    Depends what kind they are?
  20. From an earlier post. "Masque, in El Dorado Hills. Just opened two weeks ago. It's already the best restaurant in the Sacramento region. Yes, I said it. It's a 25-minute drive (sans traffic) from central Sac, but it's well worth it. Former executive chef from Valentino. Great service. Great dining room. Great food. Wine list isn't quite up to speed yet, but hey, three out of four ain't bad. An absolute winner."
  21. If she want's to look cool have her buy a chefs jacket and learn to cook!
  22. Please, Please can I travel with you? I'll bring Martinis and wine.
  23. Those Cabinets appear to the the ones with a 32mm system . If you take a door off and remove the hinge you can get new hinges on the internet. PM or email as to how to remove the door(they snap on and off).
  24. My friends and I also had Gin martinis and red meat for dinner camping in the Sierras on friday.
  25. I have a styrofoam case shipping container in my motorhome that I jokingly refer to as my wine cellar. It holds a case at cellar temp for 3 days while camping. Longer if you fill half with frozen water bottles.
