  1. I think Chef Gillian preferred 7:30. Is anyone interested in perhaps checking out John W.'s wine happy hour before hand? Sure!
  2. Field trip!! You know this is going to be a standard question to a Q&A chef from now on. John, We I be able to get these on my next visit? Pretty please?!
  3. John, Many restaurants have decent wine lists and offer terrific food, but fall short by serving their wines at to warm a temperature. They obviously spend time to prepare and create wonderful meals and select wines for the list, but the wine service seems to be an afterthought. Your ideas? And as an aside, what would your version of devlied eggs be like?

  9. Don't have much to add as the above posts were spot on in their descriptions. I had the flat iron with garlic and onions and all I can say is YUM!! That was not my first trip there and it will certainly not be my last. Thank you Michael for the wonderful meal and those great eggs!

  11. Good to hear the positive comments. I live in Springfield and I have seen the place but never tried it out. Looks like I know where I will be having lunch tomorrow! Maybe I will see you there Basilgirl.
  12. I remember reading somewhere that he was talking about possibly expanding to 12 seats at the minibar. It would be nice to know if it is going to be closed for a bit as I wanted to take some friends there.

  14. There was some implication on the other thread that Sundays are good for a number of people (me included, although I didn't post at the time). Also, scheduling something more than a week in advance would be a big help - maybe shoot for week after next, assuming it's convenient for Chef Michael? Sunday nights work for me as does any other weeknight except for Tuesday or Thursday. Of course for Ray's I could change my schedule around...

  20. All of these have call ahead available. It works rather well and you never have to wait that long as they give you a good idea of the wait when you call. It does take a little flexibility, but its much better than nothing.

  23. 5 Guys right BEFORE a dentist appt. Thankfully for your dentist you did not get the jalapenos!!!
  24. When I visited the Minibar earlier this year my experience with the guys behind the bar were much different. I only interacted with one of the chefs and he was more than willing to answer questions that I had. Kats even made a brief appearance during the meal and answered a couple of questions that we had. Maybe they were just having an off night? And I too would enjoy hearing about your thoughts on the food.

    Jaleo

    I work down in Crystal City and am anxiously awaiting the opening of Jaleo. Seeing how things have been progressing there for the past year I would also be surprised if everything was ready for an October opening.
