If you can get it heavily discounted, do it now! I have a DeLonghi 7qt to go with my smaller KA and have had no problems with it. I agree that it is not great for small portions (that is what the KA is for) it works well with larger volumes and heavier doughs. One tip to keep it from moving around too much is to put a piece of that 'grippy' drawer liner stuff underneath it.

I could be -- Any chance of venturing into Arlington for Talulla? Or should we do Corduroy or Firefly, or someplace else?? How 'bout Mendocino in G'town and perhaps crossing over to Sea Catch for their Happy Hour oysters? Hmmmm... ← I was thinking of heading over to David Greggory and sample the "3 Little Pigs."

I received the Cuisinart as a gift and I have been happy with it. It has made some very decentl and well textured ice cream. One thing that I have found to be very important is to have your base chilled in the fridge (overnight is great) before putting it in the ice cream maker. This will also allow you do make more than one batch with the freeze unit. One advantage that I have is a chest freezer in my basement so the freeze units get much colder, and therefore last longer, than one placed in a normal fridge freezer. I have not used any others, so I cannot give any sort of comparison.

It has happened, there is a room at the back of the restaurant available. ← That's where I sat yesterday, all by my lonesome. Not another soul there (again, I did show up around 1:30). It was a little uncomfortable...other than the fact that no one was there, they also didn't have napkins, salt & pepper, what have you. I felt like I wasn't really supposed to be there so when a staff member snuck up on me and asked if everything was ok, I nearly jumped out of my skin! ← The only difference if you go earlier is more people. If you want napkins you have to take a few sheets of the paper towels from the grill. I am just happy that they are still keeping it open. I always find it funny/strange to be walking through the restaurant filled with all the suits to get my sandwich from the grill.
