  1. I thought it was universally agreed upon that the theme song was the best part of the show. Who can identify it?
  2. I swear I see my tenth grade English teacher in one of those pics....
  3. Gross. And this coming from someone who absolutely adores irish car bombs.
  4. This reminds me of an episode of the Cosby Show. They go out to a fairly fancy restaurant, and one of the Huxtable kids (or maybe it was Rudy's friend Peter) orders a burger. The burger comes out, Angus style, with a big old Kaiser roll, fixins and all. The kids just look a the burger, dumbfounded. The burger is tall and juicy. The kids don't touch it. Dr. Huxtable takes the burger, takes out the fixins, and then smushes the burger down so that it's flattened like a typical fast food burger. The kids put on ketchup, smiles come back, and they happily eat their "new" burgers.
  5. Not to get too off subject, but FRENCH FRIES are the food that transcend all borders, all cultures. I once saw a ninety year old grandfather at a Beijing McDonalds, happily munching on some fries.
  6. I do that all the time. That stuff's childs play.
  7. Interesting. I've never heard dim sum used in the plural, like "dim sums," before reading this topic. In America, dim sum refers to that chinese tapas-like tea meal held in the morning, or the food served at that meal.
  8. I'd rather eat a Clark Bar than Kangaroo or Koala.
  9. Off topic, but since you're searching for the ultimate cheesecake, I love the seasonal Pumpkin Marscarpone cheesecake they make at Figs. It's awesome.
  10. 1. Szechuan/Hunan 2. Anglo-Indian 3. Thai 4. Tex-mex 5. Korean
  11. 5 dollar hot dogs at Giants Stadium
  12. I think you can cut Laban some slack. he's a restaurant critic, not exactly a beer gourmet. Though if he takes some of criticism and improves upon it, it would be great as well.
  13. i can't really comment on morimoto because I'm not rich enough to eat there often.
  14. I would pick Rangoon. As for the pool halls. Philly strangely enough, is lacking in true-blue pool halls. Buffalo Billiards and Dave and Busters probably have the most. Tons of places have bar tables, I'm fond of the tables upstairs at Doc Watsons since they are in fairly good condition.
  15. You bought a smaller version of what's commonly referred to as a "Chinese Cleaver". No shame in using it, as over a billion chinese people around the world use something similar. In fact, it's pretty much the only knife I use.
  16. When I was living in London, it seemed that 70% of the time eating out, it was curry. English curry is pretty tasty.
  17. These battles aren't as interesting. Morimoto vs Puck? Who exactly is the Iron Chef? Isn't the Iron Chef supposed to have the advantage? Morimoto has done this a million times before. This is gonna be different from the original, where the Iron chef wins 4 out of 5 times.
  18. I have often snuck an entire Taco Bell combo number 4, drink and all, into a movie theater.
  19. Restaurant owned by the family of Dallas Cowboy's linebacker Dat Nguyen
