I had no idea! Much easier and cheaper than pomegranite juice! It's perfect too, for Valentine's Day

Dulce de leche, and cajeta, are caramelized versions of sweetened condensed milk. *smacks self upside the head* duh GG, scm is one of my ultimate comfort foods. I love drizzling it out of the can. I knew the two had to be related. Can't wait to try it on toast.

Last night, while drinking my hot milk with DdL, it occured to me how great it would taste in iced tea. Sort of a fusion Thai tea. Question: what's the difference between ducle de leche and sweetened condenced milk?

I like DC in a bottle with a straw. It's even better with berry infused Vodka the next day Don't like Pepsi at all, but then again growing up we weren't allowed to drink Pepsi for pc reasons.

Hahahahahahaha You're assuming they know how to write!!! I'm good, but I'm not that good I'll let you know what they think, but don't get your hopes up. We are celebrating Valentine's Day later in the day, so I have a feeling Egyptian food is going to be a let down. Then again, I could walk in with pizza (their favorite) and it would probably be a let down, considering they know about all the candy I have bought. While I would rather eat baklahvah over necco hearts any day, I am the minority in the classroom. Then again, I like my fish raw.

Finally tried the stuff today. Can you say artificial flavor? I am a big fan of DC with fresh lime, but all I tasted were chemicals. I've never had that reaction with the lemon or vanilla. Something about the lime just didn't taste right.

My SO will do this, in minuter quantities -- but just the condiments. He will every so often wander to the refrigerator, pull out a bottle of something like salad dressing or worcestershire sauce, have a little sip and put it back. Is THAT what's going on there? No. P-W Syndrome is a serious condition that is not to be taken lightly. Other symptoms of P-W are mental retardation and enlarged penis and testicles. Your SO is just wierd Pica is actually a very serious problem and one that is difficult to treat. It is also somewhat disturbing to watch. I've seen kids try to eat everything! Often they know their behavior is wrong and start to hide their eating habits. It is not uncommon for special needs children to eat wierd things just as dirt, paper, crayons. In some cases it is because they do not know better. In others, their sensory system is so screwy that one of the best ways for them to learn is orally. As for paste, I personally prefer Elmer's to other brands, but then again I am a food snob.

We are having our Eqyptian feast on Friday, so any more information would be great! Thanks for all the wonderful information so far. I am writing a story based upon the ritual with the lamb. I think we will end up making foul. Our last unit was on Israel, so we have already made falafel. I am also going to see if I can find some cheap backlavah. I may also do a drink with Pomegranite juice cut down with some Sprite. Not exactly authentic, but close. I had something similar in Jordan about a decade ago. My class knows that people all over the world are helping us find new foods They want to know all about you!

Dead: My Grandfather, Mr. Rogers, Elenor Roosevelt and President Kennedy I'd have James Beard cook it in the kitchen of my great grandfather's deli. Great Grandpa's pickles would be sitting on the table in our family's pickle dish. Alive: James Watson, Alice Waters, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Tom Hanks. I'd have Tony Bourdain cook the meal and we would dine somewhere in Tuscany.

I am going next Friday and made reservations a month in advance. (That's the earliest they will accept them.) I've talked with others who were able to get a reservation for two during the week with just a few days notice, but I imagine on the weekends they book pretty quickly.

I'm now craving a grilled cheese sandwhich. American cheese on rye. Buttered on the outside only. It has been atleast a decade since I last ate this. A little sauerkraut on the side. Must go shopping.

Roasted chickpeas are the second best thing I have learned from Ronnie Yes, they are crunchy, but only for a little while. They eventually become soggy, but are still delicious. I used canned chickpeas that I rinsed. Well worth a try.

Whatever happened to Hogs on the Hill? Kenny's, which took over the 8th st. location sucks!!!

Although it has been a while since I was last there, I am a big fan of the Brickskeller. The beer selection is not to be believed and it doesn't have that meat market atmosphere. Just be careful if they put you in a back room, it gets uncomfortably hot there.

Not to mention that getting a reservation is a nightmare!!!! It might be too late...

Did anyone see the show on FTV last night about a Dutch oven cooking contest?

I heard a rumor that the sun even shines there
