  1. Keep it up, Al.
  2. Just got home. Food was good. Chairs (upstairs) were even comfortable. Service was flaky, but I really like the spicy pork dumplings. And I am not sick.
  3. You're entitled to your opinion. The stuff you don't like isn't stuff I'd order so I can't comment.
  4. And why not? I've only been to the DC location once (may return tonight), but I really liked it. Beef rendang and pork dumplings were highlights last visit. Web site Printable menu

    Sausage

I'm still alive (so far). Felt fine enough to make an ice cream sundae for dessert.

    Sausage

Well, wish me luck. I cooked up the remainder and it tasted good.

    Sausage

How quickly does sausage go bad when refrigerated (not frozen)? I bought some Italian sausage at the grocery store on Friday. I used half of it that night and put the rest in tupperware. The refrigerator is on one of the coldest settings because it has been hot here in DC. Question: barring any bad smells, is it OK to use?
  9. Is that little Italian place across the street still open? The one with (seemingly) two names? Mama somethings? Ennio's? If that's the one, yes. It's probably one of the first places I ate at as a new DC resident and I pass it on my way to the gym.
  10. Faccia Luna in Glover Park has closed.
  11. I'ts not a bar menu; its a cafe menu...and there are probably 10 tables in the cafe, along with the 8 or so bar stools where you can order the $9 plates. Thanks for clarifying.
  12. Interesting and informative - just wonderful!
  13. Palena's nice, but would the parents be up for not sitting at a table? The $9 choices are on the bar menu.
  14. If you can get over your anti-Italian food stance, Sette might be a nice option for your parental visit. Check out that thread. Inexpensive pizza, pasta, etc. Nice atmosphere and outdoor dining. No reservations. Indique in Cleveland Park can be inexpensive if you watch the alcohol intake. But call asap for a reservation. I think most of DC's steakhouses are out of your price range. Annie's Paramount fits the bill, however not knowing your parents, I hesitate to recommend it.
  15. Hey neighbor, TL is a nice spot. Very good food (although they're rigid on the no substitutions rule) and charming mom-and-pop (literally) service. I wish they'd update the menu though because it's small and as far as I know, it hasn't changed since they opened.
  16. Now THIS is a dog I don't want to have dinner with. [My friends are trying to decide between two of the other dogs on this site. Not Knuckles.]
  17. I hear Buca di Beppo is great for large groups. Note: I have never been.
  18. In case you do have to stick with Bethesda More about Bethesda And another The end
  19. That language is strangely reminiscent of Rocks' rant re: Rosa Mexicano, no? Maybe I'm missing something (again).
  20. Looks like it
  21. I worked late and didn't make it over to Matchbox.
  22. Uh, both actually. That just makes it even funnier. Tosca is on F between 12th and 13th. Jaleo is around 7th and D, I think. La Tasca isn't far from there, just north. About 7th and H or Eye.
  23. Yeah, yeah... thanks for pointing that out, Mark. You better watch it!! Maybe I am getting old.
  24. I can't see Jaleo being competition for Tosca on any level. Tapas vs. Italian Casual setting vs. more formal Inexpensive/moderate vs. moderate/expensive i think he was referring to the tapas place LA TASCA...but maybe i am wrong... My apologies -- Pastramionrye is correct. I was in my hooked on phonics mode and was referring to La Tasca -- vice Tosca My apologies too because I look like a big fat bitch who was trying to be smart. I really thought you meant Tosca and just didn't get it. Where's that blushing smiley face when you need it?
