The Florida Grapefruit and other citrus was testing sweeter this year than it had in a couple of decades previous in a report I read in the Fall. The Summers of 2004 and 2005 the groves were "pruned" by the Hurricanes (actually stripped, our home trees lost all fruit those two seasons) and the rainfall and weather conditions last summer were supposedly ideal.

The crop is still down in volume and pricey, but I can tell you they are quite tasty this year. Not sure that has anything to do with anything.

Next year, barring a hurricane of course, the fruit should be much more plentiful.
