For those who are interested in taking the WSET courses, here are the prices from Fine Vintage Ltd.

Ling, are you doing the Foundation Level at Dubrulle right now? Since you have already read Jancis Robinson's book, the Foundation Certificate exam should be a breeze for you. As for myself, I did both the Foundation and Intermediate Certificate at Dubrulle and currently taking the Advanced Level Certificate.

Ling, the best course (of action) you can take is the one at the LDB, where you get a buggy, fill it with as many bottles as your VISA can take, and proceed home, "tasting" the wines until you cant feel your legs. Ahhhh, happy memories.

"Since when do you have to be hungry to eat?"

Give a man a fish and you’ll feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish andhe’ll open up his own place right across the street from yours, steal your sous-chef, talk shit about you, haggle with suppliers, undercut your prices, kiss critics’ ass, steal your clients and you’ll eventually curse the day you taught him how to fish.

No, I had been waiting for more info about the Liberty course...perhaps I'll take the Dubrulle course the next time it begins.

I ordered the Windows on the World Complete Wine Course book today, cant wait to start reading it. I have been contemplating taking a course ever since returning from Kelowna this past summer, before then I would rarely ever drink a glass.

I have the 2006 edition of the book but I noticed there were a lot of earlier editions as well, is there much difference between them?

Ling did you sign up for the course? And please let us know how it was. I wanted to sign up but because of some person reasons I am worried I may be able to attend all the classes.

PS. I have met you a few times, but you probably don’t remember.

No, I mentioned in the reply above yours that I had been waiting for more info about the Libery wine program before deciding....it's between that, and the WSET course at Dubrulle. (And of course I remember who you are! )

I read a mail insert yesterday and found a link on the net today for some wine courses... what was also interesting about the Port Moody Art Centre listing is that they also have a coffee course (!) which I thought would be cool. None the less, great wine course by John Gerum is listed:

Do you know anything of this instructor I have never heard of him and this industry is pretty small. The prices are decent for the course length but alot of it comes down to the wines that will be presented. Most of the other programs listed in this thread comprise of some pretty outstanding wines used in the course structure.

Cheers,

Stephen
