I keep hearing about fancy black salt, pink Himalayan salt, etc being served at restaurants around the city...I'd like to try some of them at home...any idea where I could buy any of these rare salt varieties retail?

You might start at these places:

Williams-Sonoma sells Fleur de sel from the Ile de re. It's also cheaper ($9.50) than online sources--the ones I've seen at any rate.
