I seem to remember a really good Chinese Restaurant on RT 35 in Middletown. They had a fish tank in the front , where you could pick out your fresh fish. It was on the north side of the road. Anyone remember the name?

Was about to post a new thread looking for authentic chinese in Monmouth County and noticed this old one. Do I have to make the trip to Edison or is there some place closer? The owner of a local chinese restaurant I frequent said there may be some in Middletown or Marlboro. I think he was talking about Crown Palace. Any help would be appreciated.

Crown Palace is excellent. There also was a place in Red Bank on Front St..can't recall the name. That was good for Sechuan food.

I don't think there are any Chinese restaurants on Front St in Red Bank at all. We usually go to Little Szechuan in Little Silver but it has been slipping of late. I would love someone to suggest another local alternative.

Get your bitch ass back in the kitchen and make me some pie!!!

Although not strictly Chinese, Far East Taste in Eatontown (Bills itself as Chinese/Thai/Malaysian) is a local favorite. Chef Richard does some of the best Asian food in the area. His dumplings are light and flavorful, the Basil Shrimp is excellent and he does about the best Hot & Sour soup in the county. One of the best kept secrets in the area. Check out this Review.

I've wanted to try the place for some time but have been put off by the way the restaurant looks from the street. Are you sure the place is good?

I get take-out from there like once a week.  Richard's wife calls me "Mr. Spicy"

=mark - Thanks for the suggesting Far East taste. I tried it this evening getting all the items you recommended. I tried the Tom Yam soup with seafood (I believe "Thai Style"), an order of pork dumplings (very similar to Japanese gyoza) and the basil shrimp (and a very good chicken with broccoli for my mother in law who doesn't like Thai food). Both the Tom Yam and the Basil Shrimp were ordered spicy. Everything was excellent especially the Basil Shrimp. Thank you so much for the recommendation. Richard's place is now added to my list.
