President Chirac has reportedly sent a half case of 1989 Mouton Rothschild to Tony Blair for his birthday. A hidden message perhaps? Berry Bros. tasting notes are as follows:

1989 Ch. Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac

Classic Mouton with a nose of cassis and lead pencil shavings and a lush, oaky, concentrated palate. Approachable now but will keep for the next 20 years.

Hmmm.
