Hi, all-

In NYC, looking for a low-key, neighborhood sort of Italian place with great homemade pasta... Any recommendations?

Thanks so much,

Christina

Stick with the original in Carroll Gardens.

(edit: once upon a time there were original Italian-American non-new places that had this kind of quality... Andy's Colonial Tavern in East Harlem, when Sal was still cooking, comes to mind. Some are still around, some still have atmosphere, some have "tasty chow". beyond that I can't give unqualified thumbs-up for the cooking unfortunately.)

Noodle Pudding in Brooklyn Heights fits this description. Pastas mostly in the $10-18 range. The one with eggplant (Siciliana?) is a particular knockout. Cash only.

I really Like La Nonna In Williamsburg. Very low key and homemade pasta. Great price point as well.

Cheers,
