I'm curious about dehydrated cake (specifically angel food cake). anyone have any experience with this?

My questions about it is:

-How does it taste? (Taste fresh? Stale? Good? Gross??)

-How long will it keep; its shelf-life?

I've been looking online for answers, and I've seen some info on a backpacking web site, though it was not very useful.
