green tomato martini

A friend dropped off a bunch of green tomatoes at my home last night because he figured that a Southerner, such as myself, knew what to do with his salvage. Well, I preserved, I pickled, I pie-ed, I salsa-ed, and I(of course)fried. At 6:00pm, I felt sorta' "nightcapish" and made a Green Tomato Martini. Recipe follows...

  • 1 sm. green tomato, quarted.
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 T sugar
  • 4 oz Zuidam Genever Gin

Muddle green tomato, lemon, and sugar in collins glass or shaker. Add ice and gin. Shake. Strain in chilled martini glass.
