Beer Burgers

Beer Burgers

Simple, yet oh so good!

  • 2 lb ground sirloin
  • 1 shallot, med, chopped
  • 1/2 c beer, lager preferably
  • salt and pepper

Mix the beef and the shallot lightly together. Form patties and chill for a minimum of two hours.

When ready to cook, heat a cast iron frying pan over med high heat. Use a little (very little) olive oil to coat the bottom of the skillet.

Place the patties in the skillet, and use a large spoon to make a deep indentation in each pattie. Fill each indentation with beer. By the time you are ready to flip the burgers, the beer will have been absorbed into the patty.

Alternatively, you can mix the beer, beef and shallot together, chill and grill over medium coals or heat on the BBQ.

Practice. Do it over. Get it right.

Mostly, I want people to be as happy eating my food as I am cooking it.
