nightscotsman, do you know what the current menus are?  And does anyone want to join me for lunch tomorrow?

Good luck!! This is the week that the graduating student chefs each run the kitchen for a day. I tried to get reservations last week for tomorrow and they were already booked.....

Yeah, I got an email about the "Chef for a Day" events last week. Unfortunatley they say you have to stop by their office in person in order to see the menus. They really need to work on getting the web site current and updated more often.

Sorry for the late notice, but I just wanted everyone to know that I just recieved an email reminder that yes, there is a buffet at Seattle Central today.

Also, next Friday (March 21st) will be their "Grand Buffet" to mark the end of winter quarter. I don't know how the Grand is different from the regular buffet, but I'm assuming it's still $6.50 for all-you-can-eat.

Who would like to join me for this tomorrow? We should go early-ish.

That was a nice lunch today. Sorry, Dave and I had to take off so fast, but we had some prior commitments since we had decided to join everyone to do the "Grand Buffet" at the last minute.

It was great seeing everyone again. What a great group of people to keep company with and share laughs (and many desserts) with.

The food was good but the lines were very long this time. Are there any other culinary schools in the area that do this sort of thing?

I just noticed that Maximilien in the Market now has Happy Hour appetizers; also, a 3-course Happy Hour meal for $24. Who's been to Maximilien? I've heard good things.

Ooh, thanks for the tip! I'm thinking for $21 you could get all seven of the happy hour appetizers listed on the site and be quite... er.... happy. Certainly worth a trip in the near future.

I've been to Maximilien a number of times and am a real fan...this sounds like a fantastic deal. This time of year when it stays light later, the sunsets from there are spectacular. It gets my vote for best quality of food/quality of view combo in town.

One of my posts about a dinner there is at: Maximilien Anniversary Dinner

Most women don't seem to know how much flour to use so it gets so thick you have to chop it off the plate with a knife and it tastes like wallpaper paste....Just why cream sauce is bitched up so often is an all-time mytery to me, because it's so easy to make and can be used as the basis for such a variety of really delicious food.

I'd love to do SCCC on the 1st, but now I'm seeing I'm supposed to have lunch with a friend that day - and they are buying. Hmm... maybe I'll drag my friend along to One World anyway.
