Ye Old Waverly Inn Reservations

My wife and I want to go back to the Waverly Inn for our 40th anniversary. We used to go there every Christmas Eve in the early 70's. I found out that in order to make reservations you MUST have either their secret phone number or their secret email. I have absolutely no idea how to get either one.

I PROMISE NOT TO GIVE OUT EITHER IF YOU CAN SEND EITHER ONE TO ME AT: gnil50@aol.com.

Please help us celebrate a very special occasion!!!!!!

oh boy.

this is not the same restaurant anymore. (see the Waverly Inn thread)...it's not called "Ye Olde" anymore either.

Graydon Carter of Vanity Fair bought it and turned it into a celeb and "friends of Graydon" hangout.

there are two ways to get a reservation:

1. call or email Graydon Carter's office. (I think Jonathan Kelly is still his executive assistant)...the conde nast switchboard is (212) 286-2860.

2. stop by the restaurant in person and ask for a reservation. it helps if you live in the neighborhood (or can plausibly claim to).

edit: you might have a reasonable chance of success as a walk-in, but I certainly wouldn't plan an anniversary around that.
