The women in line willl defend him, especially Rosie who I'm sure will bring her chef's with blenders photo to be signed.
-
Perhaps we should have a little fun. We could set up my new Weber Grill and bring some food to cook along with a bottle of wine in front during the signing. That'd be good for a few chuckles.

They serve booze in bookstores?

Ugh!!!! Still jealous over a full house at 5:30 though

I had a roll at Kyoto last week that was similar. It had white tuna, salmon & hamachi. It had a light tempura batter. It also came with a spicy sauce. I thought it was delicious and something a little different. The roll actually did cook some and I didn't finish it once the fish was cooked. Kyoto always has interesting takes on classic sushi. Most work, occasionally some don't.

No love from Rosie for Lou.

The food's good, I'll definitely go back. If you're going on Thursday, PM me. Tasserts has picked up a lot of notice on eG, although I had already decided to go before I saw the post. I was over at Kyoto, and saw the guys working on the place. They gave me a tour and told me when they were planning to open. eG has seen more than its share of insider rah-rah (that guy in Nutley and the place in Clifton / Paterson come to mind), but I'm reasonably confident that most of us can smoke out the rats. Even if we have to taste one or two along the way... I'm no good this Thurs. I'm on vacation I'll be available on Thurs Oct 16th. I'll have my laptop down the shore. I do intend to check out Nicholas while I'm on holiday. Lou

Did you get the new Weber Q? Yeah, it's the coolest thing. Easy to carry, easy to clean.

The sushi lunch never happened. We never followed up on it. Monday night's loss was tough. Bought a Weber grill for tailgating, works great, fold into the trunk of my car. Now remember, keep thinking good thought and you'll be sitting in Giants Stadium soon

First Joan Hamburg, now "always going out", David, are you a little angry today? What gives you the impression that "A.G.O." is related to the restaurant? It's funny you mention that. Wed night, I'm working and about 9pm a young lady came in and asked for me. I told her who I was and she thanked me for defending the espresso machine problems. Said she was the pastry chef and I believe she said her mother who may also be related to the restaurant, told her about egullet. She seemed very young and might have posted looking to generate some attention to Taggart's. I say we monitor it and give her a pass for being an enthusiastic poster. David, if you're going on a Thursday for lunch let me know.

Due to my impending vacation, genuine laziness caused by impending vacation and the fact I'm going to have to cook for 4-8 people everynight on my impending vacation I had to postpone. That and I was intrigued by Nouveau Sushi in Montclair and tried to get The Rock to go with me but he had plans centered around Monster Sushi we cancelled. Apologies for not following up. I blame it on my impending vacation. I hear by the way, there's a hurricane moving up the coast.

Hey, I'm not disagreeing, just stated what might happen. Who knows? Maybe they don't even have one yet. It's not cheap opening a restaurant. At least there's a Starbuck's next door.

Espresso machines brake down. Mine went down Monday night. The guys came and fixed it Tuesday. Broke down Weds, they brought a replacement Thursday, didn't work friday night. They came back today to fix the replacement today. IT MAKES A SHIT COFFEE. . Good night, I'll be here all week...... then I'll be on vacation Only one of many things that go wrong, that customers have no idea how we get around it

Ugghh, O.K. Who's driving? I forgot. I have to be politically correct.

As long as it's not a Mojito at Rocco's

I was at Kyoto for lunch Monday. It was effin great. Maybe next Thurs, late afteroon, around 1pm. Any decent bars nearby?
-
How many can be seated at the sushi bar inself? Also, I didn't see, but do you have a liquor license?
-

Sorry, Ruth's Chris sucks. I hate that plate with the butter and herbs. Cooks the steak in my plate, so I have to order it rare instead of MR. Just because it cooks in the 12 minutes it takes me to eat it. I've taken to ordering it without the plate with butter on business meetings just so I'm not disappointed. Still am though Paul, by the way. I didn't mean to be rude. Thanks for the cheese. The 1st visit was more than enough. The Goat milk cheese was perfect. Sue & I loved as did our guests. Rock never showed.

what were you 15 tending bar 20 years ago??? Aztec is very much still there, still decent for happy hour...my usual trip includes starting with a drink or two at the Sawmill(South end), and after a few dozen clams at Berkely clam bar, a cheesesteak or a white-cap, and a huge slice of pizza, I am ready for another drink at the Aztec(North end)... Summer of '84, 19 summers ago. Remember don't chastise your elders!!! It's my boyish good looks , don't be jealous.
-
I bartended at The Aztec 20 years ago. Good at happy hour, good at last call. Don't know if it's still there though. On 2nd thought, guess I added absolutely nothing to this topic except to show my age. I'm just trying to catch up to Tommy.

Tommy, I just noticed your posts are 3.65 % of all total posts. I agree to Luger's just based on the fact that it'll keep you off you're effin computer.
-
Say it ain't so. Despite what Rosie says this is a must have experience. And Fat Guy says that its great at lunch. Maybe another lunch with you, me and the Rock is in order. Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo....... If you jack-offs are having steaks at Luger's, I BETTER have an invite. Besides, ask The Rock about our little ferry ride past Luger's and our conversation that Sparks is so much better.

The apology letter is nice but as a restaurant owner I would have reached out a little further and led Fire Islandissh back to the restaurant ASOP. As those on the Jersey board know, if I fuck up I need to stop the bleeding before it hits the Hugo Boss. Then again I have a public access cooking show, not 4 places and book signings. Though, I am available on Thursdays, but I'm most likely at OTTO.
