I thought he/she looked like Robin Gibb! Nah, more like that female/male wrestler Nicole Bass from The Howard Stern show.

O.K. Back to the prawns that manly looking woman and her neutered husband sent back, Spanish Mediteranian Red Prawns, about $ 17-24 dollars a pound. Wonderful!!! That waitstaff is a disgrace, they were taught wine handling, worthless because they wound up betting on a chugging contest. They didn't know the difference on the forks. What was Laurant and the chubby Maitre'D doing for the few days before?

for *rosie's* benefit. not ours. Do we have enough phone books?
-
which ones were they? someone told me that they thought Wal-mart sold only wallpaper. I could use The Hilton girl's at my bar.
-
Never mind that. Rocco running with the fire estingisher was the best. My hero!!! What a Joke! Rocco's looking sad now.
-
yeah, but you'd be in a $2000 suit, walking around dipping your pinkie in some sauces and sucking on a bottle of wine. My friend, I dress the part. Thanks for the props. Do you know anyone at The Food network? I had my chance but I got braces for my teeth at 35 and that was my shot. An old college buddy trieed to hook me up but they told me not until the rails came off the teeth. Oh well!!!

For once, I don't know where we should go with this.

i don't know if the "filming a TV show" has much to do with the point, but i find it hard to believe that chefs who have several restaurants "make an appearence" in each kitchen daily. why would Rocco be any different? Cameras? I'd be there workin. Shining actually. I've got an ego.

I didn't see anyone getting desert> Maybe Episode 4?
-
Bullshit, beside if I put you in front of a camera, no one will see you except those in Morris County. Although, Rosie likes those Men with Blender adds. I'm beggin Rosie, let me do it!!!

My favorite was the locker room scene. I was waiting for Ann Julian from " It's a Living" , where the girls all discussed the problems of the world. Not to mention the advances of the sly piano player.

What's Chicken Parm? Spagatenni Oil & garlic? Who's training the waitstaff? The best for me was they were putting cappelinni & other thin pasta in a pasta machine that has holes in it. When the pasta cooks it goes through the holes. That machine is good for tubular pastas only. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got more. This show after the 1st epidode, didn't make Rocco look bad. The 2nd made him and his management look completely incompetent.

I've been back for a least a week and will be here til my trip down the shore. If you want a Rocco theme perhaps Tommy can be Laurent, the DR manager, The Rock obviously will be The PR director bringing the glitter people. Hey people, let me know when you want to come, what you want to eat & drink and I'll take care of it. Lunch, dinner, perhaps breakfast, I'm up for it. Lou Actually, If Tommy and The Rock want to do my next cooking show let me know. I need to plan in advance.

Stopped by Rocco's after lunch at Blue Smoke about 3:30 for drinks. Asked the hostess, who wouldn't even look up from reading yesterday's NY Post's Page 6 article on Rocco's,she told the bar was closed. The bartender was standing behind the bar. Oh well. I can never figure out why restaurants close the bar between lunch & dinner but that's another topic for another day. As we were standing outside deciding where to continue cocktails, at least 20 people walked in trying to get food & drinks.

Paul Lynne, Charles Nelson Reiily.... nah I'm not goin there. not that there's anything wrong with that.

Has anyone been to The Market at Morris Plains? It's on Sat and has been runiing for two weeks. A close market on Sat is great for me.

This is great. Rocco couldn't cook anything. Great meatballs, Jay beat him up cause he was a wiseass. Darryl Hannah saved Rocco cause she was so stoned on her Lithium hot spa. Restaurant's booked for the next few months. Sell my soul to the devil. I don't know? That Z-100 apperance sticks to my craw and Tonight didn't go well. Hey, he's a star, let's hope he sticks to what made a star. I've never eaten at UP and won't til all this settles but I envision a visit in about 9 months. Everyone tells me it's great. Would I do it? I'll let you know in a few weeks. It's not my choice.
-
Looks like the bars big enough, though I couldn't tell cause it wasn't effin finished on TV. I'll give you a time schedule tomorrow as far as where we'll be on Thursday.
-
those meatballs might very well be the same meatballs that he ate growing up which inspired him to greatness. and the wine list is probably pretty damned good as well. Tommy, This is pretty obvious. We must go. I think a visit here for wine and meatballs at the bar is in order. A few of us are going to Blue Smoke in the late afternoon. We could fit this in. I could use a few laughs. Maybe Mama will be there. We could ask The Rock...

Did anyone notice how whinny Rocco came across, jeez his Mom had a bigger backbone. Boo hoo, I can't have my downstairs spot at Mercer & Prince. Boo hoo, I don't have a place to announce on the Today Show. Boo hoo, I can't delay the opening. Good lord man, you've been in this business for how many years? Pressure is all we face, suck it up and move forward. If it wasn't for his PR guy kicking him in the ass, I think he might have had a breakdown. Gotta give Rocco credit, That Z-100 appearence where they asked him to make something from the vending machine. I don't know if I would have done that. I also saw live, his appearence on The Today Show live and Katie was all goo-goo eyed over Rocco, he never got to finish what he was making asshe kept on talking and drooling.

I don't know. Next weeks race between the artifical leg & arm seems entertaining. I'll take the arm for a buck.
-
I could make it really interesting and talk about Banzai on Fox at 8:30. It's pretty funny. Then again, I think Rocco's show will be funny also.....but in a sad way.
-
I know this is on the Food & Media board but wanted to give it a little local flavor. I'm looking forward to this as it's about an hour away. First, I think this will be entertaining for those that don't work in the food industry and are curious about the inner problems that occur. They are touting the "fire in the kitchen" as one of the highlights and I will tell you now with all the fire prevention classes we have to take plus the inspections, this will be a lowlight. Second, the waitstaff, even though most will be actors ( a good amount of waitstaff in NY are actors ) will be true to be form. They'll be neurotic, with many outside problems and there will be plenty of sexual flirting. Third, I'm jealous. Why doesn't anyone want to make a TV show about restaurants in Jersey. I can't wait to hear everyone's comments & reactions. Lou

Hmmmmm, if he can roll sushi, I'm sure he can work with us.

i'd like to think that's the case. but it's an unlikely explanation. I'd hire a shuttle bus for those in Bergen that want to spend $75 per on dinner. No drop offs at Bada Bing
