Oops. I'm still not local I've only heard Bunnings Snags - maybe because they have a different charity (where we are at least) every week? Still good. To me... I'm not a fussy gal when it comes to Sausage - there's GOOD sausage and BAD sausage, and it might sometimes (alot of times) be made of "lips & a******s" but unless I hit a hard bit I'm good π€£

Yeah I don't get the concept of "Bangers" being a particular "type" of Sausage. I know where the word originates and the history but a Banger to me is just a plain old sausage. Can't say I've ever had a bready one. I would say I prefer a short fat "Banger" with my mash over these long skinny ones that the Aussies prefer π€£

I turned this pretty little Chicky Into this boring looking meal a day later. Chicken, Broc, Swede & Carrot Mash & Peas.. awaiting Bisto. Disclaimer: All crispy skin was consumed in a 'family pick' fresh out of the oven.

When life gives you Lemons.... WTF do you do ? π€£ Work contact asked me if I used Lemons. I said yeah sure, apparently the citrus farm he works at can't sell what they have π, and he'd grab me some of the produce set to be composted. I expected maybe 6 shitty lemons if any, him bringing me anything would be a extra 240km drive for him. 20kg later.... this is a small sample and they are the size of my handπ€¦ββοΈ.

Bangers N' Mash. Simple Comfort... and it is cold (to me) here. Wholegrain Mustard Mash & Caramelised Onion Gravy. I have 2kg sliced onion to use up π€¦ββοΈ. I sliced 2kg and sent with the boys on their Bucks weekend. They ate 72 Sausages and forgot the onion.

Leftover Burger Patties I made for a Bucks weekend. I only had Ciabatta to hand. Lightly toasted, American cheese, pickle, onion, one with BBQ sauce π€’ and one with mayo, mustard & tom. Sadly, no booze made the return journey. Rest in Livers.

Ugly delicious tonight. I got lured by misleading grocery store steak again. The fat was a good inch thick, the meat maybe 1 cm. So I decided on Steak Sangas fat removed for me and the boy. Forgot I had 0 salad... he didn't mind π€·ββοΈ. Steak, Beetroot, King Island Cheddar and Onion with Spicy Tom Relish. Tried an internet thing where you butter bread before toasting. Won't do it again. My grill is probably uneven.

So I came home to his first crack. Not too shabby (but as I mentioned - we don't BBQ so who knows if its any good π). Delish & Juicy he did pork belly and chicken legs - got bored of lollipops after 4! Cherry & Sheoak - apparently thats important.

Tried these recently. They are spicy and flavoursome, nice thick noodles. Great 'fresh' but if you get caught up with work, leave them for an hour so they absorb all the soup and then eat... not so much, just a spice bomb.

Husband went to a couple of BBQs during lockdown with his lad mates. Both of whom had invested in pellet smokers and were dabbling. Now we have never been BBQ aficionados I think I tried Brisket once maybe? But nevertheless when he mentioned he was considering trying it out I agreed, hobbies are good, I like meat, how hard can pellet smoking be π€·ββοΈ? And if he dosen't take to it, no harm. Came home from work today. What. The. F... I hate BBQ sauce. π

Cypriot/Greek inspired slow roast Lamb. Garlic, lemon, Cinnamon, Oregano & Rosemary marinade for 24 hours. Balanced on some tiny potatoes kidlet dug up from his great grandmothers veggie patch. Five hours later and the carnivore should be happy. Little drier than I would have liked but I'll put that down to me using a leg not a shoulder. I just can't seem to find lamb shoulder down here.

On tonights edition of Where Is The Carb, himself has some Roasted Turkey Breast with a side of Ham, Jalepeno & Cheese Scrambled Egg. If anyone wants to send me some proteiny Inspo that would be awesome. He never complains but I'm getting bored of meat/egg/meat&egg cooking.
-
Turkey Meatballs tonight stuffed with Bocconcini covered in Sriracha by himself (man Toast is better and easier to spell!). Thats a bread plate, they aren't ginormous.
-
After our weekend of gluttony Mr. CCST is back on his protein rules kick. So for him its a 2 egg omelette with beef sausage, bit of cheese and chili. Not sure what I'm having yet but I haven't had bread or potato for like 4 days so, I guess it's the Olympics for me next π€·ββοΈπ.

Skewered and packed one of the other red meats for Hubbys work lunch tomorrow. I just can't do it myself, too strong/gamey, have to air out the house after. π¦π¦

Normally it does here too. But this Gelato place neglected the chips. They also didn't have Vanilla which is what I would have usually got. Still yummy.

Pub lunch today. Steak Sando Burger & Chips Tenders & Chips for kid (he was so miffed his was the only one with salad π). And the whole reason we were here. Poor darlin hasn't had a Schooner in 6 months π. He didn't quite know how to cope with sit down only service.

We each picked two restaurants that do Covid takeout. Picked the name out of a hat. One of hubbys Mexican choices 'won'. You win some you loose some. Flavours are awesome. Temp/portions not so awesome. Small Nacho with Beef Large Nacho with Pork Vege Quesidilla Chicken Taco

Breakfast at a place called Eat at Dan & Stephs. I think they were on a cooking competition tv show. Its a brunchy kind of place, husbands choice not mine. We prebooked and had a 45 minute sitting window. Pancake for Kid Cuban Sandwich for Hub Normal Breakfast for the only Normal person π

I haven't been anywhere since February. Decided to brave it and sneak away for the weekend.... but not brave enough to eat out / do anything yet π. So we had food delivered to the apartment. At least we can see the sea. Satay Pork for Hub. Fried Rice for Kid / Share Roast Duck for Me.
-
This fits here just. Only because my dinner was all the off cuts etc. Kid had curried (catsick) snags and rice. Husband is hosting friends for day drinks tomorrow while I'm working so I built this to ensure there is something to nibble on. Last time it was very much single malt and not a single thing else! I want to assure you this will be served with a lot of fresh fruit and veg. But it would be a lie. Steins on Thursday, Stents on Friday π€·ββοΈ

I'm with you on the cold cheese, as is my husband. His layering involves 'bottom cheese' so it melts into the meat. My son however has a less advanced palette... and like with the hidden veg - if he can't see it, it's not there and it must be cheesy - hence top cheese π. As to the hard shells - I've only lived in UK and AU and hard / soft shells are both readily available in all shops - don't know anyone that makes either of them personally. Hard seems to get most of the advertising though. π€·ββοΈ

Night before last husband was playfully moaning about missing a Schooner and A Parmy. Again. Gave it a shot. I scored 10/10 for the Schnitzel (thank you Panko) and 8/10 for the Chicken parmigiana as a whole. Tonight was Turkey Taco Tuesday, I stuff for the kid and these are his. I have learnt that if I put crunchy / healthy toppings in the meat they get eaten - so mince includes tomato, beans and capsicum etc. Excuse the presentation but these beeping things fell over 6 beeping times while I was trying to provide socially acceptable photo content of a 7 year olds dinner. This is the Beep It shot.

She ain't pretty.. but she's my (husbands) Supper π. After a bad day and a (few) Beer(s), my Husband randomly said he wanted to remember what "Bunnings Tasted Like". Sausage on Bread with Tomato Sauce and OHAS onion. π€’ And and and ... to avoid being eviscerated by the local @Captain of the ship ... I buttered the god damned bread this time ππ
