Last night we had another get together. I neglected to get any photos of the BBQ but got a shot of the nibbles. There was Rump & Snags, Potato & Pasta salads, Green Salad, Stuffed potatos, Coleslaw & Garlic Bread. I am done with cooking/making for a bit! Goats, Cheddar, Camembert, Jambon Serano, Kransky etc.. We go away for 5 days now so its been a mission to hand over / use up leftovers. Tonight I made my husband an 'Abominable Sandwich' for dinner. (He loves weird ass sandwiches, they make me sick in my mouth a little 🤷♀️🤢). Cheap white bread, thin sliced leftover rump, pasta salad, mustard, spring onion and jalepeno with Massdaam & Cheddar. Dustbin Sammich 😂.

Okay. Its all over. Deep breath. Reset. Relax 😂. Happy Christmas Everyone. I hosted this year for my husbands family. 13 people and 1 Vegetarian (jk jk). Inlaw stress panic overprovide menu was: Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Pigs in Blankets, Prawns. Vegan sausage rolls. Pork sausage rolls. Vegan Pot Salad. Egg & Bacon Pot salad. Stuffed Potatoes, Stuffed jalapenos (with a V version). Lentil and Pumpkin salad. Coleslaw. Vegetarian Stuffing balls. Green salad. Fruit salad (made by mr 6). Trifle & 2 x Pavs ( MILs art not made by me). Jps

Embarassed lil spatched chook for dinner with some boiled pots & veg. Slightly annoyed because I accidentally made the juiciest Roast Chicken I have ever achieved and its only me and the lil fella so 90% is going to be for cold sandwiches / salads during the week 🙄.

We had Quesadillas tonight, too hot to "Cook Cook" Chipotle chicken breast with Jalepenos, Onion & Red Pepper. Sour cream and Salsa for the boys... each with their unique preference of how it should be offered. Dollops Vs Spread Vs Jeez give me a break guys.

Red Thai Curry on the Bubble. I use the Mae Ploy Red Paste, but have to double the meat because my mens are carnivores and prefer Bites to Broth.

Husband requested an Omelette for dinner and I had sweet peppers by the bushel. So this 3 egg, Burrito inspired monster was born. Tonight he and his brother are having Pizza and beers, I'll be having toast and will spare you a photo but here's a glimpse of the 'Hot N Spicy' they selected.... makes me wince.

BIL is harvesting and dropped round some fresh cut corn. So I set to work and dinner is.. Corn. Its just Corn. Its friday night i'm tired and if you're hungry there is corn. To be fair I did cave and also make garlic bread because... well I don't eat corn and I didnt want to be hungry 😅

Had leftover corned meat from the boys Sandwiches. Decided to go for the opposite of a deconstructed corn meat dinner not sure what the word is? Amalgamated? Corned Beef Dinner En Croute? Just pie 🤷♀️ Corned beef in a mustard sauce with Carrot & Corn & Chard slapped in some flakey because Pie. Also thats a side plate not a dinner plate 😂

As I near the end of my freezer clearance, dinners are getting... weird. I also wanted to use the sweet peppers (?) From my food gift the other day. So Cumberland sausage & sweet pepper Gyros it was.

Rainbow chard thank you! Gives me something to google for recipes. We got a far as 'Really Pretty Silverbeet' 😂. Hope the cucumber isn't poisonous... was a little worried someone would grab it out the bag behind me and use it as a Billy Club.

Another fresh bounty left at work for me today. I'm a little frightened of the cucumber and have no idea what the peppers are but will be fun finding out. I don't think they are spicy.

A couple of weeks ago we went to the big smoke and got Thai Takeaway. I refused to spend $33 on half a BBQ duck, ordered the duck stir fry for $24, picked the 4 pieces of duck breast out and left 90% of the noodles and veg. My sense of economy uh, tickled my husbands enfuriate bone 😅. Today I got home and he had (as part of project empty the freezer/prove a point) BBQd me a whole duck to 'pick'... which I started before I remembered to take a photo 😂. Whipped the kid up a quick noodly ducky vege thing.

I am deep into one of those 'I do not want to be an adult' phases of life at the moment, craving a roast and no time or energy. So settled for Roasties and a Mug of Bisto for dipping. Eaten in a huddle over the sink with a sound track of "Sh.. that's too hot! Sh.. that's too hot! Slurp. Oww." Because we're animals. 😂

Came home from work to an awesome nibbly dinner prepared by Mr CCST. Ash Brie, Black Bomber, Port Salut & the best bit... he shelled a bunch of boiled peanuts for me - because I love them but absolutely suck at shelling them (aka I'm really lazy) so don't often eat!

Still working on project 'Empty Freezy'. One of the bigger reserves of meat is Minced Beef (Costco was Involved). I recalled I had a cook book entitled 'Mince' scavenged from somewhere so I flipped it open, and it landed on 'Beef Fried Rice'. That'll do, rice is small dudes fav food. The recipe opened with "Serves 4, 500g uncooked white rice 🤔". So I shut the book, and I winged it. Edit: I should have looked at Dantes post first and remembered Vegetables are a thing.

Had a pork tenderloin out with plans for some kind of Roast. Lil Man asked for 'Meat on Sticks & Rice'. Marinade of Soy, Honey, Garlic, Sesame Oil, too much Ginger Etc. Unpictured Salad that he didn't eat anyway!

Yes, It still looks like Cat Puke from the 70's but I am inching closer to being able to make the Curried Snags the boys love without a packet mix. Served with Cauli Mash. Pro: Everything from Freezy excluding spices, onion and garlic. Con: Still not gonna eat it 😂

A taste of my teenhood. There used to be a Baguette stall at Waterloo station that I frequented when I went to Gigs in London. Always got the Egg Mayo & Pork Sausage. Not quite the same at my music free desk but 🤷♀️
