  1. Maybe zilla's gifted him with viagra.
  2. Grew up where?
  3. That's the story. I vaguely remember the sam story about CA, but it was such a long time ago. I was in SF for about a year, and wanted to check out the ice cream places ( I was a good ice cream maker, and a FAST mix-in person), but there were none to be had. By the way, we didn't use marble. It was some sort of plastic.

    Olives AND drinks is dangerous.
  5. Hey Varmint! I haven't seen it written here, but I'm afraid what you eat doesn't show up physically for a couple of weeks. Maybe someone has some concrete information on that. One bad thing about bingeing. Stuff youself with chocolate or whatever, weighing yourself everyday thinking 'Cool! I'm not gaining weight!, and all of a sudden bang, you've gotten fat. I don't think your lunch today will have any affect.
  6. Phoenetically, there is little to no accent in those brought up in the city. It's the boroughs. Trust me. The city is too international and too cosmopolitan to pick up that type of accent. New York City IS defined as Manhattan. Elsewhere, you have Brooklyn, Queens, etc.. Who says lets go to the city and ends up in Brooklyn? They mean Manhattan. Brooklyn use to be the 4th largest city in the world. It was still called Brooklyn.

All it really takes is throwing it on the pile.
  8. Welcome cricket! My favorite beer depends on my mood. Yes, john, sometimes I even crave a bud. Sue me. I don't see the difference between bud and rolling rock, honestly. There's nothing like a guinness. There's nothing like a bass. There's nothing like a hefeweizen (probably my most craved). In NYC, Pioneer supermarket on Columbus and 75th (?) has the largest beer selection as far as I know. Cheap too.

  15. I want to get drunk at your house!
  16. Yes. Steve Herrell, I believe. I worked there for four years. Steve's, not Herrell's.
  17. I've seen no difference at all.
  18. "from the island"? you mean like born and raised in manhattan? Yes.

Varmint, that looks like it's going to be a GREAT party! I'm jealous.
  20. I'll bet you anything these people were not from the city. People from the island have little to no accent.
  21. His spicy hot chocolate is fab. He's practically under the Brookly Bridge which should make for a lovely walk to the city if you're so inclined.
  22. I was going to suggest Torres' place, but they're not really in the city. Have they finished their expansion?
  23. You know, this is so refreshing, I am much pleased. I too am of the "the people who are rude here are NOT from here" camp. As some of you have seen, I have had this argument before and will till the day I die. But to be more precise, when people talk about NYers, it is the city to which they are referring, not the boroughs, meaning Manhattan. (Sorry Tommy). Again, people come here form the rest of the country, the rest of the boroughs, and can't deal. Of course this isn't true of every person here, but in my experience, its quite weighty.
  24. Claire, you crack me up! I believe Mc Donnalds used to use pure lard for their fries.
  25. So when are we going, dad?
